I got my crib at baby trilogy, a corner crib for about $1000 including custom made bedding set.

We used a dresser we already had

We used the bed, couch, or floor for a changing table.

glider/ott came from toys r us about $75

Crib? It was my crib as a baby. It started as my brothers. It was also my niece's and several of my relatives used it as a second crib (for grandparents houses, etc)
Dressers? No dresser. Just some plastic drawers in the closet. But my Dad did build a long bookself for Brayden- it is so nice! I love it!
Changing Table? My mom bought it for me from Pottery Barn. Not sure how much it was.
Glider/ Ott? We have a rocking chair in his room that started out as my grandfather's chair that he rocked my mother in. It is a long storey with the chair... very neat... remind me to share with ya'll one day about it.
Bedding? Pottery Barn

Also we had a bassinet. It was first my grandmothers when she was forst born. It is beautiful and I cherrish it so much. Dozens of babies in our family have used it.

I guess Brayden's things were very family oriented.

thats really neat that you could use your families things. my crib was sold in my parents divorce.

you will have to tell me the story one of these days.

i never wanted a changing table because i have always prefered the floor. but I have two hyper dogs and I am not sure how that will work. also i don't want to have to go upstairs EVERY time the kid poops or pees, seems lame to me and inconveinent. I may just have to train my dogs some time soon.

I say go for the changing table!!! I wasn't going to buy one bc of the money thing. But my mom insisted I have one. She said is sucked have to use the crib, floor etc. (which is what she did) The only mistake was that I wish she would have gotten one that was a convertable dresser changing table- those are great bc once you are done with the table you still have furniture. But I do love my changing table. I filled the shelves in with baskets for diapers, wipes, etc.... I love my changing table!! Best thing ever!!

you will use it more than you think... Brayden is one and I still use it almost every time. :)

Oh if you get a dresser just make sure it is open at the bottom so you have a place to put your feet. Does that make sense? So your toes can go under the dresser. Otherwise you can't stand right up near it. When I go home I use a pad on my dresser but I have to stand sort of sideways bc there is no plce to put my feet. :lol

so I take it you are officially "trying"? Did I miss the big news?? :giggle

SezzySue

well he gets home in just 12 days and thats only like 4 days before i should ovulate so yeah this is out month to start trying.

I knew what you means about the open at the bottom. its a good point. i am still deciding how much i want to spend on the furnature. i know i don't need the convertable stuff because i will want it for baby #2 and baby #1 will probably be a toddler. so i don't see the need to waste the money. also i know it isn't all that important how pretty it is, so why spend so much money

My son and daughter had new cribs, but I forget from where. My daughter's one was a pretty dark sleigh crib. This time we bought a crib from someone on craigslist for $30. I bought a changing table from someone else for $5. I don't know if I'll keep them, but since I already have it I'm thinking why not. I will refinish them the same color. I'm sure it'll come out nice. I'm just worried that I'll be tempted by another style. I hope not though. I'll save lots of money by keeping these.

Currently I am looking on Craigslist for a dresser. I found a tall one for $60 but I really want a long one. I may buy the tall one anyway just to have it for more storage. I can even slide it into the closet if I don't want to see it. Or store it in mine.

Crib- My mom bought it so I don't remember. She got it at Target though.

Dresser- Don't have one, just a rubbermaid drawer thing. Mara doesn't even have one of those. She just has cheap $20 wire shelf thingies from Target that a neighbor gave us a few weeks ago when she moved.

Changing table- Free. My neighbors were moving (same ones that gave us Mara's shelves) and they gave it to me. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought one.

Glider- Don't have one

Bedding- My grandparents bought Mara a set when she was born that I ended up not using. They have both since passed so I was glad that I still had it to use with Morgan. I smile everytime I look at it because it makes me feel like they're still around and are able to enjoy Morgan.

I got the crib at walmart, it's a crib, changing table and dreser all in 1 and you can use it at a toddler bed and a full sized bed also for 170.00http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3132491

My mom ordered her bedding from JcPenneys, I don't know how much that costed.

My dh's grandma bought me a solid oak rocking chair at a furniture store for Emilee. I never use da glider/ottoman for the other 2, I used to just rock them in the livingroom in the Lazy boy.

yea, we just attached a changing pad to our dresser. we used the dresser from my old furniture set & bought one of those 9-cube organizer shelves from target. we bought a convertible crib at a local baby furniture shop for about $450. Our glider cost more - we pretty much bought the best one you can get. bedding we got at babies 'r us.

you should start teaching your dog to stay out of what will be the nursery when you get pregnant. we are trying to get our dog to the point where we do not have to put up a gate. when he was here last, he would wait outside the doorway (with no gate) until he was invited in the nursery. also, we started putting blankets down on the floor and training him not to go on the blankets. we started that after she was born though so it was a little late. our dog is very hyper too, so i understand.

For Breanna:
Crib? We spent like 88 on it. We got it at the exchange.
Dressers? We bought one at Target for about 50 and one at the exchange for 50.
Changing Table? It was given to us. We never used it though.
Glider/ Ott? Didn't have one.
Bedding? We spent about 40 at Walmart.
Mattress (I'm adding this one)? We spent something like 50-60 at the exchange.

For Johnny:
Crib? We bought it off John's Chief for 100.
Dressers? We bought it at the exchange for 50. We bought his and Breanna's second one at the same time so it just so happened they match.
Changing Table? We didn't bother the second time.
Glider/Ott? It was given to us by one of John's friends.
Bedding? I bought the same set so I would have extras. We had bought a gender neutral theme so I decided to keep it. I got it at Toys R' Us for 40-50.

I got my crib from walmart. It was 99 and its perfect actually. My son sleep GREAT in it and loves it. I got the matress from walmart too for 39.99 We will use the same crib for this baby and just buy another matress since my son will still be using his in his toddler bed

I never used a changing table. Never really needed one. We used lap pads on the couch or the floor. I wont need one or use one with this baby either

I got my glider from walmart and it was good. It did start squeaking and then eventually broke. This time I will just use my recliner and skip the glider. I think the glider was 80. You can get much better quality from babies r us but they are definatly more expensive.

Bedding. Well my mom made his quilts and such. We did not use bumpers in his crib. Our childbirth class was against them so we opted to not use them. And I got him jersey knit sheets from babies r us for 9.99 a pair. I plan on doing the same with this baby. No bumpers, will but sheets, and my mom will likely make the quilts and blankies
