if I hadn't been "chatting" with him via email, I might have thought something happened. I don't think it was very tactful. Her voice was so...well, she sounded bored like the last thing on earth she wanted to be doing was calling me.

I emailed dh about it and he wrote back and asked if I wanted him to forward my email to his Chief. I said sure. Could you imagine what some young wife who was dealing with her first deployment would think if she answered the phone to someone who sounded like that?

I just chuckle, because I've been around this life too long to really care if they ever call to check on me. It's been a month and this is the first I have heard from ANYONE.
