I was just wondering how you told your SO that you were pregnant.

I always envisioned myself doing something creative, but when it actually happened I freaked out, and called him at work, and said, "OMG!! OMG!!!! Hey honey! Umm, guess what? I'm pregnant!!! OMG! OMG!!!" Then I told him that I had to go and look at the test again and that I would see him when he came home. I didn't even let him have a reaction before I hung up. I am so crazy! LOL!! :rolleyes :lmao

Both times I called him at work. The first time it took me forever to figure out how to dial our house phone to call him at work. This time I had JUST gotten off the phone with him and literally called him back 3 seconds later and told him the good news.

Both times he told me not to get all excited until I confirmed it with my doctor. I kept telling him that the home tests are exactly what they use at the drs off( I know I worked in one) BUT I just humored him and went anyways.

We won't be able to have any children together (we have 3 from previous marriages) but I always wanted to send him an outfit or booties (boy or girl color or both) xspecially if he was deployed with a little note, Surprise or What did you do?!! or something coy. Really surprise him with it but.... oh well.

With E we had been TTC, using meds, tracking o, planning sex etc. So I tested on Valentines day and when he woke up I asked him to look at it and he said he saw 2 lines

This time he got home from work, E and I greeted him at the door. I asked how his day was and he said ok and I said "well thats good..guess what I am pregnant" He thought I was kidding at first :giggle

With Zach he actually knew first - he said he just had a feeling. I denied it. My sister emailed me a week later, said she had a dream that I was pregnant and that we needed to go test because she knew she was right. I still denied it. Finally, Robert was gone out to sea for a few days and I was on the phone with a friend and told her that I was late. She annoyed me enough and I went to buy a test and low and behold it was positive. Robert, who had that feeling, told me that I was free to tell people that we were pregnant before he got home because he already knew :lol men!

With Nikolai we went out on a date and since we were trying we stopped at Vons, bought a test and I took it in the bathroom there :D I looked at it and thought I saw two VERY faint lines but didn't get excited until I could take a closer look. After making him wait about 5 minutes or so I handed it to him telling him I thought there may be a faint one there and he laughed and told me that there was nothing faint about that line!

Oh yeah I forgot this last time I told dh that he knew how to knock someone up... He just got home from a 6 month deployment 2 weeks earlier...

With Breanna I called him and asked for him to come over. I was staying at one of friend's houses at that time. When he showed up I handed him the test. He was shocked. Very shocked. We weren't really even dating at the time and he had just gotten a job in MD so he was getting ready to move. When I was 4 months pg we got married. I had told him before we found out I was pg that I didn't want him coming home every now and then thinking he was just going to call me up and get some so when he left that would the end of us. So I look at Breanna as God's way of saying we were meant to be together and his way of keeping us together.

With Johnny I really didn't tell him. We were trying so when it got close to that time of the month he would have me taking test after test. Well, one night he asked me to take another one and when the time was up I thought I saw a VERY faint line. But I wasn't sure if it was me, the test, or if the line really was there so John ran and got me another test. I waited til the next morning to take it. John had duty that day so I got up with him and took the test. I went back to bed and he stayed and looked at the test and then he came and told me. When he came home from duty the next day he brought me 2 more tests. Both of those came back positive, too.

With this baby I woke up one morning before everyone else and had this feeling like I needed to take a test. I was a few days late so I took a test I had sitting in my dressor. It came up positive right away. I left it on the mirror in the bathroom for John to see when he got up. He walked right past it twice. So I put it in the pantry on the shelf above the cereal since he had a box of cereal out. John again walked past it. I asked him if he was sure he didn't see anything in the pantry. So he went back. Again he walked past it. I finally was just like there is something in there you need to go look at. He went back in and came back out with his jaw on the floor.

DH was at home when I took the test....I had it taped to the bathroom mirror so when he went in the bathroom to get ready, he would see it. He made me make a Dr. appt. (luckily they had one that morning), and went with me to the doctor's while I took the test. The doctor came back in and told us I was pregnant, and DH was like "She's pregnant? But how?"
The doctor said "Do I need to explain the birds and the bee's to you?" LOL

I tested the first thing the morning I was supposed to get my period because I had been feeling pretty crappy the previous two days and was really curious. Dh already had an idea because I had been talking about feeling crappy the night before and wondering outloud if I was pregnant. As soon as the test read positive, I called Dh, even though I knew he was still asleep and left a message for him to call me as soon as he woke up. The first word out of his mouth were "Are you pregnant?" And I said "yes."

I wanted it to b all cute and all, but I was so excited to tell him that I didn't even think of how I wanted it to be :lol But here's how I told him:
He got home in the am from an overnight watch, he went to bed and I ran to the dollar store to get some things and a cheapie test. Came home, took the first test while he was sleeping, and faster than fast it was positive...I didn't tell him yet though cause I was suprised and excited but I didn't think that I really was and I thought that the test could be wrong...so back to the dollar store I went (the hubs still sleeping) and bought two more...lol. Took the second one and same thing, it's a positive...wanting to be EXTRA sure it was right I planned on taking the third one...so I waited til Nate left for work (he still had no clue that I was taking the tests) after he left I took the 3rd test, and same thing it was positive..so I waited and waited Nate finally came home...I grabbed the test, hid it behind my back...greeted him at the door, hugged him, asked him how his day went, and he asked me how mine was and I told him "Good...guess what?" and he said "What?", I said "I'm pregnant.". He asked me if I was sure...and I laughed and said "Yeah, I took three tests and they all told me the same thing...lol"

This next baby though I wanna tell him in a creative way though....

I've never once had a pregnancy confirmed lol I found out I was pregnant and made an OB appointment for 12 weeks :lol

I walked out of the bathroom with my mouth hung open and the test in my hand. He didn't even have to ask. I was literally in shock, and he was freaking giddy! The opposite of a normal couple's reaction! :lol Then he threw away my cigs. Great story to tell the kiddos someday! :no

I never did anything creative. Tony was so anxious for me to test that he was always RIGHT there to see lol.

I didn't do anything creative. With Madison I didn't want to be pregnant so I made him go look at the test and then told him I was pissed :hehe Awful eh?

With Hayden I took a test but I told him I already thought I was so I guess it wasn't a huge surprise for him. He was home when I took it so he saw the test right away.

Both times over the phone, and both times I said 'I'm pregnant, holy S#$&!" :shock

Well.... I took him to dinner and presented him with a bag full of Sugar Daddies, Sugar Babies, Baby Ruths, Runts and Junior Mints. He looked at me and asked if I was taking him to the movies after dinner. I told him to keep digging. Under all of the candy there wasa box with the pregnancy test in it. He nearly fainted!! hehe

with our first baby i took the test while he was at work. of course it was positive. when he got home i keep telling him to take a nap with me and he kept doing things around the house. finally he laid down and i told him that i had a present for him. i handed the test to him and he keep looking at the test and then me. the test and then me. then he started to ask "how" over and over.:lol

with ds, i had been sick for a couple of days and he was out for about a week. the morning he came home, i was at work and they made me take a test. it was positive and when he called to tell me that they had pulled in, one of the ladies said "hi daddy, how are you?" went completely over his head! so we all shouted (about 5 gals)...you are going to be a daddy!!

He was always home when we found out.

With Lexi the doctor called and told me.

With JD I woke him up and handed him the pregnancy test. This would have worked better if he could see or knew how to read the test :lmao

Sarah I put the test in front of him one evening while he was on the computer. We were both in denial.

wow, with my son...we were both in college, so it was a shock to say the least...I took two test, then went to the campus clinic...of course all were positive...I called him since I wasn't going to see him for a while...I think he cried first out of fear...it took us both a while to let it sink in. I def want to do something creative for the next one, although I don't know if I'll be able to hold it in for very long.

With ds1 he was there, funny story, but long. Ds2 called him on his way to take the PRT and told him. He ran his fastest 1.5mile :D

I always wanted to do something cute, like frame the sonogram picture or buy something for a baby and give it to him. But he's the one who suspected I was pregnant and made me take the test. Then I was too scared to actually look at the test, so he went in and did it. :lol

With Ella I took a test when he was at work and when it was positive I was in shock. I had just lsot our first baby only as month before. I wasnt' planning on getting preggo so soon. So when he got come i asked him to go get me some tylonal out of the bathroom and the test was sitting on the sink and he saw.
With this pregnancy he was delpoyed. He was just home for 2 wks and got me pregnant like the first day. So I took test for a week and they were all negative but I just knew. Then about 14 days late I got a positive. He called me from port and I told him b/c I couldn't keep it in.

I told him in an email.

Then he threw away my cigs. Great story to tell the kiddos someday! :no

I went in the bathroom while he was lying on the bed. Said "oh my god" and when I came out, I said "looks like your going to be a dad" and he thought I was kidding since I joked a lot.

He was excited!

The next tiem I get pregnant, I want to think of a good way...

i took 4 tests, said we're pregnant. he was excited. then she was born. and he sucked as a father.

i've already figured out how i'm going to tell jason when we are TTC and find we're PG :)

With #1, he heard it through the grapevine basically. :blush We were broken up and I had told my current DB (just a friend at the time ;) ) and he freaked a little on him, that's how he found out.
With #2, he had just left on deployment so I emailed him a pic of the test. Then he called me from Hawaii and asked me if it was true and that was that.
Neither time he was too thrilled and I moved back to AL when #2 was 1½ months old.
Not very good stories. :lol If I have another one, I'll have a good way to tell DB. :)
