View Full Version : How soon
If your baby started out by military style crawling or scooting around, how long did it take till they were actually crawling, crawling?
She brings both of her legs up and scoots slightly around w/ her head & arms on the floor, lol. She sometimes military style crawls a bit.
I try to help her and I think that really helps w/ her learning.
Meghann 10-02-2006, 07:13 PM Bruce did the military crawl, it was soo cute!! he crawled like that for a few months, and around 9-10 months he started crawling normally. and then around 13 months he was walking! :D
Ryan is just trying to figure out the crawling thing, he gets on all four and then doesn't know what to do next, is so funny!
DoublEE's Momma 10-02-2006, 07:18 PM Eian did what I called "The inch worm" *it was kinda like the military crawl but he didn't use his arms..it's hard to explain* when he was 6 1/2 months...then he started crawling on his hands and knees at 9months and then was walking at 10 months.
Brandi 10-02-2006, 07:20 PM Shelby crawled like that for a LONG time before actually walking. In fact, she almost skipped the "real" crawling because by the time she was done scooting and army crawling, she was already pulling up and cruising furniture. She started the army crawl at around 4 1/2 months and did that for probably 3-4 months. By around 9 months, she was fully walking. She only really crawled (true crawl) for about a month or so. Both my kids almost skipped crawling. They started with army style then went right to pulling up on stuff :dunno
Eian did what I called "The inch worm" *it was kinda like the military crawl but he didn't use his arms..it's hard to explain*
That's what she does! :yes Along w/ the military crawl.
Cherrish 10-02-2006, 07:22 PM DD is pushing herself backwards and forwards...actually, she's on the floor doing it now. lol
She's gotten to the point that if we help her up on all fours, she's kinda just....sitting there. She isn't sure what to do with her arms, so she just moves her legs.
mara_jade81 10-02-2006, 07:33 PM Hayden did the army crawl (I called it his gecko crawl because he looked like a little lizard) for months before crawling on his hands and knees. In fact he's just started crawling on his hands and knees all of the time just in the last month. He started pulling up on stuff and cruising by 9 months.
LaurenBeth 10-02-2006, 07:35 PM I think he started scooting at around 7 and a half month but didn't really crawl until 8 and a half
Rileysmom 10-02-2006, 07:37 PM Eian did what I called "The inch worm" *it was kinda like the military crawl but he didn't use his arms..it's hard to explain* when he was 6 1/2 months...then he started crawling on his hands and knees at 9months and then was walking at 10 months.
That's what Toots did at 6 months too! Then he crawled for "real" at about 7 months... it felt like it happened overnight! So I guess it took about a month or so...
Veronica 10-02-2006, 08:28 PM Val did the military crawl first too, at 6 months and at 7 months she was crawling crawling...but she didnt start walking till 13 months...
NavyChiefs_Wife 10-02-2006, 08:31 PM it didn't take sydney very long at all. i'd say about a month after she started crawling "military style" she was crawling all over the place.
Potatocup 10-02-2006, 08:36 PM Rhianen isn't crawling crawling yet, she gets on all fours and pulls her kness up to her chest then flings her upper body forward. it's kind of funny. she just gets up and rocks a lot too. she needs incentive before she'll go anywhere.
Caimbrie 10-02-2006, 09:54 PM hmm well Alex was military crawling at about 6 1/2 months and really crawling around 7.. he started walking at 9.
Cameron was military crawling at 6 , crawling by 7 and walking by 10.
Wyatt is kind of crawling and he's almost 8 months.. he's slower than his brothers were.
Kristin 10-02-2006, 10:03 PM Elizabeth never did the "Real crawl" she army crawled at about 9 months and did that until she walked at 1 year.
Emilee army crawled from 9 1/2 months -11 months and then she crawled normally until she was 14 months (late walker)
