Hi there, I am a navy wife of 8 years and my husband left for a year in Bahrain 3 weeks ago. I am pcs'ing to Oahu on the 16th Dec with my 8 year old son to wait for him. We are hoping they will lift the dependant restriction in Bahrain so we can go over for a few months. Otherwise it's straight to Oahu.
I can't go into housing because of 2 cats and 2 parrots and would appreciate making some new friends who might be willing to view some properties for me or at least let me know about the areas I am looking at.

My boyfriend will be in Oahu by the end of March and I'll be there soon after. He needs to find a house/apartment before I move out there.

there are a lot of apartments in Salt Lake... try looking there... they are decently affordable.. there are a lot of apartments and rentals that don't allow pets though so your best bet might be to call a rental agency or a real estate agency to see if they can help you locate something... try the classifieds online as well... they might have more in them! Even the Navy News online! GOOD LUCK!! I'm sure I can go drive by places if you need me too! Everything is pretty close. Pearl City and Aiea are two cities close to the base as well!

Hello ~
In regards to moving with animals....be sure to check on the quaratine laws. Hawaii has really strict ones....and if you don't get everything done before hand then you have to pay for your animals to be in a kennel.
Not many places allow for animals. Most of the housing here is PPV and they require a deposit for anilmals....plus there is a limit to how many you can have.
We are in the Pearl Harbor area.........will you be in this area???
