For some reason I can't save blinkies and whatnot on my computer. When I try to save them as a .gif it will only give me the option to save it as a .bmp
anyone know how i can fix this? It never used to be a problem

Ok this happened to me with some smilies I wanted and this is what I did... I right clicked on the gif and went to properties to get the url. Then I put the url in photobucket (you can save pictures from a url) then after it saved I saved it from photobucket to my comp. Hope that helped and I didnt confuse you. :D

Usually clearling out your temp internet files and cookies and history will fix that problem. It always does for me ;)

Kristi is right. Its because your cache (temporary internet files) is too full. Go to "tools" up top on your browser, then "internet options" then "Delete files". You may have to close out your browser and even restart your computer sometimes, but that will solve the problem for you. Basically, your browser saves in bmp when your cache starts getting full because bmp is the smallest file format that an image can save in. So, it's trying to preserve resources. Just empty your cache every couple weeks and you should be fine! :D

did you check the box to delete all offline files also? and did you completely close your browser and/or restart your computer?

welcome! since you frequent a lot of sites with large images, your cache will fill up faster, so you'll wanna clear it about once a week or so. The more file intensive the sites are, the more you're storing in your cache. So, your photography sites probably fill it up pretty quick.
