Ive smoked for over a year now, and i don't plan on quiting anytime soon. I know alot of people don't like it, and im not rude enough to smoke around those who do hate it, but i won't quit for anybody but myself. Dh & I both smoke, so when we both have stress out of our lives, we will quit. Im worried about my skin, my lungs and my face- but unless you have been addicted to it, you don't understand how hard it is to quit once you've began. Congrats to all the quitters! USAF_Gal 10-15-2006, 05:46 AM I used to, I quit in May 02. LaurenOC 10-15-2006, 07:20 PM i smoked off and on from 13-14. Started again at 16 and have been since then. It started only when I would drink and now has sorta turned into a sometimes habit :shrug That's how I started years ago but the sometimes turned into all the time. I smoked daily for about 13 years then quit cold turkey. I've been smoke free for over 6 years. Even though I smoked for so long, I really hated it. I hated how it ran my life and dictated what I would or wouldn't do, or where I would go. I hated the smell it left on everything. I am so glad I was finally able to quit!! :yahoo I will never touch another cigarette again!! Pebbles 10-21-2006, 12:08 AM no way! USMC ISSUED 11-26-2006, 10:51 AM yes and no ... but NEVER EVER EVER NEAR LILLY ... she still hasn't seen me smoke Kara 11-26-2006, 11:31 AM No. It's a waste of money & the most selfish thing you can do because you are killing yourself & not thinking about your own children & family. I think people who smoke, especially around their children, are murdering their children without even knowing. I'm not sure if it's poor education or just pure stupidity. Either way, I think smoking should be illegal. Rach 11-27-2006, 01:02 AM I "partied" hard from 19-21 and so I would smoke whenever I drank. The last time I smoked was when I was 20 & there was one night where I smoked a pack (never had smoked that much) and the next morning I felt absolutely sick! I have never touched a cig since then & even when I was still drinking didn't desire one. :sick These days, it makes me VERY mad when I have my baby & someone is around me doing it. I don't care if it's their right. Of course I leave the area, but I think they should be courteous & either leave or stop. I have been around people who have done that where they seen we had her & thanked them for being so considerate. kristy 11-27-2006, 12:16 PM no, i'm allergic to it and so are my kids. the ex's family smokes and they come back sick sick after spending the weekend with the ex. db smokes but said he is going to quit. thomas.cl 12-11-2006, 01:21 AM NO ~Crystal~ 12-11-2006, 09:21 AM Yep....but I'm quitting!!! Bigmammajohns 12-11-2006, 12:50 PM Nope, as a life long asthma sufferer, can stand to be around it if at all possible. aprilloveshim 12-11-2006, 01:31 PM trying really really hard to quit, its hard when there isnt a support system around you. you lose allot of your friedns if they smoke because its just like any other addiction, if you're around it then you will most likely do it. xo AmericanGuy 12-21-2006, 12:46 AM not for 3 years now. Ste9 12-21-2006, 01:28 PM nope, never have Marinegurl808 12-23-2006, 05:01 PM Smoking's not my thing Dr. K 01-01-2007, 03:08 PM NO! I've seen what smoking can do to an individual and what it's like to be "living" with emphysema or COPD. NOT fun looking! I also learned how to "clap" on people's chest to help clear secretions in their lungs (while other dieases can cause such actions to be taken, smoking is one way to do it to yourself) and would NEVER want to have to go through respiratory therapy of that kind personally. theElephant 01-01-2007, 03:11 PM Nope,a dn I am allergic to cigarette smoke! proudofmysailor 01-01-2007, 08:12 PM No. Kudos to those who have quit!
