I can stand it because it's shore duty and I truly cherish sleeping in the same bed with my husband every night of the week. BUT...I am looking EXTREMELY forward to leaving SC.

I don't HATE it here but I don't love it either. Its tolerable only because we're on shore duty and I love the fact that he's home. If we were on sea duty, I'd hate it.

I am ready to move today!! lol We have been here almost a year but I really am ready to leave. There is nothing to do here... I miss Florida (I would even settle for the southeast)... miss the beach... it was so damn hot here in the summer and so dry. The post SUCKS!!!! Way too many people on one pst- takes FOREVER to do anything.

I like out house and we are in a great neighborhood. Other than that it is very BLAH here.

I picked "I can stand it for now but I don't want to live here forever".

It took me about a year to actually stand this place. I think it was because I was from small town, Illinois to here where there is a diverse group of people. What's bad, I actually went home to Illinois and I so bad wanted to come back "home" to here. Guess I like it better than I thought, but I don't think I would want to live here for the rest of my life, it is in the middle of nowhere.

I don't hate it but I would love to move from here soon. Like now. :teehee The area is nice. We like going up to WI. We have yet to have the time and money to go into Chicago and site see or do anything (excpet for fly out or into Midway). I'm terrified of the traffic inside Chicago so I will not go by myself. It is expensive up here. The COL is ridiculous. We wanted to buy a house but can't afford a nice house in a nice part of town. The weather I can't stand. The only nice thing I guess was a summner that wasn't ungodly hot. But the winter is coming, it has already snowed once, so it is grey and gloomy. I really don't like that. And I miss my beaches. I don't care what anyone says these are not beaches. I miss FL. :tears

Well I want to move now. I've been wanting to move since we came here, but it's almost over so I can stand it for a little while longer. Everything is a drive here. I like to be closer to things.

Love it! I am close enough to family...with in 45 minutes to an hour and we are in a great house/neighborhood. The kids are in a nice school that is just around the block. The summers are a little hot, but we do have a/c (the electricity bill just sucks during the summer). I don't want to leave for a long time!

If you would have asked me 6 months ago when I was in Washington...I would have said..hate it and can't wait to leave...lol. San Diego is not the worst place to be but I would much rather be back home in San Francisco/Bay Area or somewhere on the east coast (maryland, new york or some place like that).

So far it's great! But, I can't wait till retirement time comes, and we move back closer to family. I don't mind being driving distance from them, but I loved when we could at least go home for the weekend once or twice a month. I miss that.

Nope, I can't stand it here. The only thing I'll miss when I leave here are the friends that I made. Otherwise Texas is definitely not the place for me.

I like it here and I love my house but I don't think we will make it our forever home. It is just to far away when an emergency arises and his Dad and my Grandparents are getting older now.

Jennie

We're stationed in Fallon, Nevada and I'm not particularly fond of it here. We're supposed to be transferring to Oceana, but we're on med hold, so we can't. Although I don't like the whole sea duty thing, I'd love to be in Oceana, closer to our friends and family in Richmond. So..I can't wait to move!

I haven't decided yet...I just got here.

I just moved from Elmendorf a year ago. I LOVED it. It was kinda cold, but I jsut left my house when I had too. It is really beautiful. Take advantage!! (Dairy Queen is 2 hours away, but it's a beautiful drive in the summer!! lol)

Now I live in Hawaii....see why I love it here? After 4 years in Alaska, I needed to thaw out!! haha

i can't wait to move. i wish dh was going to be getting assignments (to a certain extent). we live in a housing edition/trailor park (we have a modular). our house is way too small to have two boys that r 5 and 3. I don't like living on top of each other. thats what it feels like. i want a country house that i can feel like its home for good. and away from my aweful hometown! the only good thing here is my family and a couple close friends.
