Let me tell you, it was a HUGE waste of time. As I posted yesterday, they switched the time and place for it last minute. Not that big of a deal. But this was by far the most boring and pointless appointment I have had throughout the whole pregnancy. The nurse midwive listened to Kailtyn's heartbeat (144bpm), measured fundal height (36cm so no change from 2 weeks ago) and told me that the strep b test came back negative. That was it. Well, she did ask if I had had any contractions, which I haven't had. With that I was done. I should have just canceled this appointment and waited for next week's...

That's how they are in the end unless you're having contractions lol.

Awwww- when I was pregnant I was considered high risk. So I received ultrasounds until the day I went into labor which was 5 weeks early than the due date. I know an ultrasound would have made this visit worth your while.

I remember the last two weeks of my pregnancy were the most miserable, I could hardly walk or do anything.. sending good vibes your way!

Yeah the last few appointments are pretty uneventful unless you are close enough for them to check you or strip your membranes and they are willing.

I remember 36 and 38 weeks were boring!

At my last appointment the midwife (a different one than the one I saw Wednesday) told me we'd go over my birth plan form that I was supposed to fill out. Since the lady I saw that day was so rushed I completely forgot to ask about that and a couple other things I had meant to ask. It seemed she was more interested in the fact that I'd be going back to see my normal doc next week because she kept telling me to say Hello from her.

oh Kris thats awful. they didnt even bother to check your cervix?? at all my appts in that last month even though they induced me 2 weeks early then Robbies due date only because I had Gestational Diabetes they still checked my cervix, but then again I was going to a civilian Dr at the time too.

so you are 38 weeks?? ok, i'm 35 weeks. when did they do the strep b test, cuz i thought they did it at 32 weeks, but they never did mine. and i thought they started to check your cervix at 36 week appt??? well thank goodness they dont! i am dreading that part. is this your first?

They did the strep b at my 36 week appointment (actually, they had me do it myself lol). And yes, this is my first. Not sure if the other midwife I had the past two times or my normal doc would have checked me at the last appointment but the lady that did the 38 week checkup didn't.

ok. yeah this is my first too...as if that wasnt obvious. and i feel like since this is getting to the end there should be something going on you know? or like something i should know about....that i feel i dont know. i have been in between docs for a while cuz we just finally moved back to california, so i was going back and forth from hawaii to san diego like my whole pregnancy so i am hoping that didnt screw up what all is supposed to happen and when as far as my doc appointments. so do you know what you are having?
