I don't know if there is already a thread like this but I was just wondering what to expect when my dh comes home. He has been gone for six months and this was our first deployment. I can tell just by the way that he reacts to things that he has changed. He swears that he is not going to go back to how he was before he left. From all of you that have been through this before how true does that normally ring??? Thanks!

I've never been through a deployment as of yet, so I don't know first hand. I'm not trying to scare you, but DH told me people never come back the same once they go to the boat, whether that's for the best or worst. I would just take it easy, the deployment hasn't been easy for either of you.

Yeah I was told the same thing. I am actually hopeing that my dh comes back changed. The things that I have seen while he has been deployed and in the changes in him have made me fall in love with him so much more. He keeps saying that now he relizes what he has at home. I have never seen him like this. I mean he is even following through and helping me out with whatever he can while he is out there. I am not sure what to do with it!!! I cannot wait unitl he gets home. I want that hug!!

Sounds like this deployment was for the best!! I'm glad he's changed for the bets and not the worst!!

When they come home from deployments alot of men change because they want to!! No because they were gone!! I know alot of people who come back just the same as before they left! They just have to get back into the habit of things!

I agree!!! He'll be really different at first and then get comfortable again, but he'll remember what it's like when he was gone!!! I'm sure you two will be great!!!
