What are the basic 'terms' for the Naval deals? When I read the forums, I see a lot of Navy terms that.. I don't even know. Victor joined the Navy out of no where through a recruiter at school anddd since he didn't really know ALL of the details, I never really asked.. which led to me not knowing. I can't think of anything off the top of my head right now, but if you know some things that I should probably know, lemme know! It'll be helpful.

Also, he'll be finishing up Boot Camp in mid December (around Christmas time) so.. wouldn't he have time to come home since.. classes.. won't be running through the Holidays..? :confused Or will they keep him and make him go to A school regardless of Christmas holidays? :freakout What's the 'A' in A-school stand for anyway and what the heck does it mean? >> I'm clueless x 10.

I know we used to have a list of Navy acronyms somewhere. Not sure where it is though. Areyou looking for any specific answers/terms? Or just in general to get an idea?

BDUs are woodland cammies
BEQs are Bachelor enlisted Quarters (housing for single enlisted guys)
google Navy acronyms and you should be ok.
As for his leave alot of that will depend on when he graduates, the school he is going to and the distance etc... And if he is in a company from boot that got in lots of trouble etc.. that may affect it

:yes BEQs are Barracks rooms.. basically like dorms.. He's going to confuse you a lot with talk of PSD, LES's, COLA, BAH.... Not to mention the little nicknames they have for their uniforms.. Cracker Jacks, Johnny Cash's and the like.. Racks are beds.. LOL.. You'll have it down in no time at all being here on the site.

Good luck, and may I suggest you get a copy of Sea Legs, it's a book that's available through the (FFSC) Fleet and Family Service Center that will help you learn all you need to know..
