This might sound like a stupid question, but since some of you have battled with trying to concieve, I figured you might know the answer to this based on what Dr's have said.
If you have a regular, clock work cycle, does that mean you shouldn't have a hard time TTC?

In theory yes. But. I have learned with infertility that you can be like clockwork and ovulate weakly. Meaning an egg not ripe enough to be fertilized but ripe enough to release KWIM? Infertility is becoming so much more well known now and actually over 10% of the population has it. Also men are affected by it too. So you could have trouble and it be a problem with him.
But in theory you shouldnt have a hard time conceiving with a clockwork cycle. But remember it can take a full year sometimes and you only have a 25% chance in any given month to conceive. And thats even if you have sex on the right day, you ovulate on the right day, the sperm meet up on the right day etc etc. It still can take a bit of time or it can happen right away. The body is a mysterious thing
Interesting... I didn't know that about the egg! Makes sense, since they say as women get older, their chances of concieving decrease...Thanks

Yeah. See with my PCOS I didnt ovulate at all. And then I got pregnant in 02 on clomid and lost the baby. After I lost the baby I ovulated every month. But still didnt get pregnant. I had a weak ovulation. Strong enough to release and generate a period but too weak to be fertilized. Which is why the metformin and clomid worked to help me conceive Ethan. It gave me a much stronger ovulation
Ahhh, learn more! I don't know much about Clomid & other fertility drugs, I guess I assumed it helped the woman to ovulate.
Thanks Kristi!

Yep it does!! But by helping the woman ovulate it can generate a stronger ovulation :D And the metformin can also make a woman ovulate and it can help sustain a pregnancy in women with PCOS
