Mine's a pollywog but next week he'll be a shellback. :shock Kris - yours was in Guam so he's a shellback: he's crossed the equator. They go through some initiation thing, apparently. I dont want to think about it!

nick told me about it its like an iniation (sp) the plloywogs are all gatered on the deck and they do dumd stuff like sing stupid songs and they stuff they do varries depends on what the shellbacks want then to do from what I understand they can be told to do anything as long as it doesnt cause bodily harm they dont have to particate but they are kida ridiculed if they dont

And DH is a pollywog he has only been on one ship so far and they didnt have time to cross the equator when he was on deployment

first time I've heard about this, but sounds like he's a pollywog. He hasn't even been on a cruise yet, just dets.

Shell back. I actually have the video from his initiation. It is hilarious because he is an E-6 and had never really been on the boat. So this was his first time crossing the equator. They made him do soooo many humilating things and since you are just a pollywog any shellback can tell you what to do. They had airman telling him things. I about died laughing when I saw it.

Just found out Guam's actually just north of the equator, so my df's gonna stay a pollywog for a while longer :D

Mine's a pollywog :lmao He's never been to the west coast and I don't think east coast deployments put them over the equator.

DF is a pollywog...and this Deployment shouldn't change that, so he probably will be for awhile.

A shellback twice at least..he also crossed the INt' Dateline. I saw pictures of what they did. It looks really stupid. I saw some people covered in green slime and he has this white shirt with dirogitory (sp?) names written all over it in marker. It seems like a silly thing to me but the navy is mostly men so you can't expect too much.

A Pollywog but this should change with this coming deployment. :D
