I went to highschool in Gypsum, KS, with kids from the other tiny not-really-town-towns of Kipp and Assaria. Graduating class of 72 - the biggest in the history of the school:D

that's where my sister went for a few years, and i've got a bunch of old high school friends that are going there. it's a pretty town, we generally go sometime on the weekends for dinner or a movie or something, since junction city is just freaking pathetic.

One of my close friends and her husband just PCS'd from Riley and were living in Manhatten!

We are still based out of Riley, but I moved back to MN while hubby is deployed. We were on post when we were there, and honestly, I LOVED it there!! Much better than GA, that's for sure!!

I've heard of Syracuse...I think we played them in sports and stuff in High School :lol I went to a tiny school called Southeast of Saline if that rings any bells....

Doesn't ring a bell, BUT I graduated in 1998 and I know that they started playing more teams in 99/2000, my brother graduated in 05 and he probably knows the school.

I just wanted to say I was looking at your profile to see what year you graduated and I read your story about meeting your DH and that's such a cute story!

I just found your post. I was wondering the same thing. I live in Junction City. I moved here in aug 06. DH is coming home in July and we are moving to Ft. Bragg. It would be nice to meet more people, I dont do much with the FRG.

Salina is a huge change for me. I used to live in Kansas City and now I live here. It's been an adjustment plus I have no friends so I feel stuck all the time. Really though, it's not as bad as I thought it would be when I first moved here.

My boyfriend goes to KSU Salina. I am sure he has seen your dad a few times. He works in the Dean's office a few days a week as well. Even though my blood runs crimson and blue, I may own a KSU Salina shirt. :blush

my fiancee was stationed there before he deployed this september and i love it there we have a year left there when he gets back in 2009 he was stationed at ft riley btw

I'm still at Riley. My DH has been in Iraq for 8 months now we are finally over half way. I went home for a few months and decided I'm much happier alone at my own place, so I am here for the rest of the deployment. I am starting Barton classes on post the end of this month.

:hi That's where my brother used to live. I'm not as familiar with that area ("big city" :scared :lol) but we like to venture to KC every now and then for fun. You should check out The Plaza in KC - it's full of really cool (and expensive) designer shops and restaurants - really ritzy, and really fun to visit!

Most of my family lives in Kansas City. Ohh and I SECOND the plaza....especially during the holidays it's SO fun. Go out to a nice dinner down there and enjoy the lights.

DB's family is out there, we just visited in September. He grew up in Mt. Hope and went to Andale High (~35 min from Wichita I think). DB converted me to be a KU fan, sorry. My parents live in Kansas City, MO though, will be there for Thanksgiving.

Kansas City is my home. I miss it! Things have changed so much in the year and a half since I moved. I love going down to the Plaza on Thanksgiving and waiting for the lights to turn on. It always feels so festive.
