I keep getting letters and phone calls from creditors. The problem is, that DB wrote and sent the checks to pay everything off before he was deployed. He also sent copies of his orders for deployment so any new issues could be put on hold until his return. Well, over the last month I have received phone calls and mailings regarding debts that were paid off over 3 months ago. I don't have a specific POA for these companies to get any information or even talk to someone to get it all straightened out. DB has attempted to contact them, but he can't make 1-800 calls from where he is, and he rarely can call during business hours. This is getting frustrating, and there has got to be a way to straighten it out. DB will be coming home soon for surgery, but they keep adding charges each day that they are not being handled by us. We are very good with our money and this is totally stressing me out. DB said that they are not supposed to do this while he is deployed, because it is considered harassment.

Has anyone had any problems with this?

Well, I've tried talking to someone on base, but I am learning that with the military, I might as well not exist if I am not formally married to him. I already have a POA, but alot of places are not accepting that anymore. You actually have to have one specifically for their institution/company. This would literally take a couple of months because it would all have to be done through snail mail, due to his current deployment location. I might as well let everything rack up, ignore the calls, save all of the mailings and have him deal with it when he gets home.

DB better not have to pay more money, because I know for a fact that he has paid off everything. There is just one credit card company that failed to inform us that the "automatic withdrawal payment" system was only valid for three months at a time. Well, they won't give me the balance so I can make a payment and they won't allow me to re-activate the automatic payments, even though my name is on DB's checking. I have been WAY too honest to even consider posing as him...

Sometimes I wish we could just all go back to the simple bartering system. I have a lot of beads laying around that I would be happy to trade! LOL!

I would not worry much since there is not much you can do. Once he gets back they need to fix all that for him including waving all the late fees and all that.

They do not have to talk to you if your not on the account. Also the Soliders and Sailors act does not work unless it was debt BEFORE he got into the military. They do not have to honor it. Alot of companies do NOT have to take POA. Jag will not help you. He will have to take care of it when get he gets home.. Sorry. I would just not answer the phone. Keep all the letters thou.

but she can still TECHNICALLY... CALL AND DON'T SLIP AND SAY YOUR NOT HIM.... THEY HAVE TO TALK TO YOU !!!

If you verify all the information ....what can they say... that would be discrimination ... trust me on this one....

Just got off the phone with bank of america for you ... I have the address for you to mail the poa to, they also advised me I can call back and get the fax number to send the poa to, their inbound collections isn't open on sunday, so as far as the sscra for the account ( since it was opened before he left, i think that is what you said ) would be valid. The Contact I spoke with, and directly asked them what you said about the cc ..stated as long as it includes financial information in the poa, all they need is a copy and they will document the account. ( as yes, I called the number you gave me )

This would entitle you to be able to do ANYTHING on the account.

As far as the other one goes... I will have to get back to you. They aren't open today
