Go early to the graduation! You have to find parking and wait in line forever! And make sure you know what his number thingy is. You get to sit right in front of them (if you get there early enough) and you can see him the whole time. Oh yea he may not be able to show affection when he sees you, so don't take it personally. The higher ups are watching and they can get into trouble for showing too much in uniform...stupid I know! Hope you have fun!

only one person gets the graduation info, as far as I know.. get there early, for definite, it gets crowded, and fast. as Jeni said, he may not be able to be too affectionate right after liberty call, dont get too disappointed!, um, try to sit by his division so you can take pics... thats really all i can think of

The # of phone calls you get is based on how well the division and him personally do in traning they use call home as rewards I think my DH called about 5 times while he was there but he did really well. one of the best in his division. As far as Aschool goes they have the weekends off but they also need to use that time to study. I did go stay thier for a week in a hotel really close to the base he was able to stay with me but he still had to go to class. He did get off for Thanksgiving and was able to come home for about a week but we where already married and his family and i lived just a few towns appart so he was able to see all of us. But I dont know how its gonna work for you all being in diffrent states and all. I cant really think of any major holidays for awhile anyway thouh so u might not have to worry about it

ETA wear comfortable Shoes when you go to graduation you will probly have to do a good amoumt of walking and get there at leat 30-45 minutes early

i would really get there more than 45 minutes early, the flier says to get there really really early, i cannot remeber what time, but i think i was there before 7 for a 10 o clock ceremony, the line for cars to get onto base is INSANE. john's mom and i walked from the car thru the gate since my mom wasnt staying anyways. the # of phone calls depends on several things, my ex got to call several times, 5 or 6 and i got letters that said things like "we got to the phone center and some jackass messed up so we had to leave before i could call" .. and xb only called me, your boy could be calling his parents too, keep that in mind. I am so excited for you, boot camp graduation is a blast to go see!

my husband just graduated jan. 13th. we stayed at the best western in waukegan. We got graduation at 6 am and were able to get front row seating. do not arive 30-45 min early if you want good seating. get there hours before. We ended up siting the back because they said the veiw would be better. It wasnt so dont do that. All the divisions march in and there is alot of them just standing and stuff. It boring I thought. They arent allowed to make eye contact with you or give any sign they even see you. They could get in big trouble an get sent back to boot camp again! at 10:35 liberty begins and then its up to the divisions command when they have to return. my husband returned about 45 min early each night. one guy was late and got sent back to week 1-1 of boot camp! as far as A-school he'll know all the details after he graduates so hang in there. They are only allowed to mail letters on sundays so if you have questions for him besure to let him know you need answers in his next letter.

I hope this helps

Hey... My DH graduated Sept 23..and Im sitting here looking at the program right now.. it started at 0900 and we got there at 0745...there was alot! of ppl and they were all just waiting and they finally took us back only to find, there was a group that had already been taken.. make sure u know his division, thats where ull sit as the other ladies said... take pics!! also, once u go in, u can't go out... DO wear comfortable shoes!!!! I tried to hold J's hand (not knowing) and he said I can't do that in uniform here and when u want, u can hold my left arm.. sooooo, there are rules... um, DH had liberty until 9 pm... make sure that u guys leave in time to get through traffic and he has enough time to walk back to his ship!! one person being late causes them all to get into trouble.. matter of fact, joshua and his ship lost 2 hours for a guy not coming back in time! if u feel hungry, get some water or snacks outside the door bc u can't leave and its a long wait! it is very very nice!! so take pics and just enjoy urself!! make sure u are on the list first and foremost bc if u aren't, u can't get into graduation!!! good luck! have fun! as far as the phone call, if they pass battle stations, they should get a phone call!!

I agree...be prepared for him to be VERY PROFESSIONAL...which is awesome and you will be so proud of him. I ran to my husband and hugged him for what seemed like forever...he hugged back, but was then very "stiff"...there are lots of higher ups watching them and they are to act professional, esp. in uniform. You can hold his arm when you are walking, not hands...no PDA either. A small quick kiss at PIR is prob. ok, but not much more...don't be offended...just remember he's a professional now!! Just be proud! Have fun!!
