*Crystal* 11-12-2006, 06:02 PM My 10 month old is starting to get teeth and the past three nights we havnt got much sleep!! :tired No more than 2-3 hours per night! The thing is, shes fine during the day, but its at night she starts getting all crazy like!! We have done teething tablets and motrin and everything under the sun!! Any of you ladies have any ideas how to help her not be in pain just at night??
patrixgirly 11-12-2006, 06:12 PM my grama is VERY old fashioned so im not really suggesting this...but i asked her and she said she use to stick her pinky in jack daniels...lololol and just rub it on my gums while i was sleeping... i dunno tho... again IM NOT SUGGESTING THIS!!! just tellin u what she use to do... and y the old lady had jack daniels in her house i have no idea!!! lololol
Victoria 11-12-2006, 06:23 PM Have you tried the nighttime baby orajel?
AG2Wife 11-12-2006, 06:44 PM night time orajel is great :)
I give DD hylands teething tabs, tylenol and night orajel before bed when she's teething & it works pretty well!
Hope you find something that works so you all can get some rest!
patrixgirly 11-12-2006, 06:46 PM guess no one liked the jack daniels idea... :dunno
mara_jade81 11-12-2006, 06:51 PM No the Jack Daniels idea is BAD! Babies do not metabolize alcohol the way adults do and you can give them ethanol poisoning by doing that, even if it's a teeny tiny bit. It's an old folk remedy that needs to disappear.
I am no help though, I've done teething tablets, Tylenol, the gel and when Hayden was teething badly nothing helped.

my MIL suggested that.. she also suggested whiskey, tequila & southern comfort?! I'm not brave enough to try it.

Yeah...there's night time formula and regular. So you've tried BOTH?!
MelissaMc424 11-12-2006, 08:20 PM we used the orajel teething swabs with Cam.. they worked great along with tylenol.
*Crystal* 11-12-2006, 08:22 PM HEHE nope not both, didnt know there was a night time formula. Guess Ill have to go find it! Thanks

*Crystal* 11-12-2006, 08:33 PM Thanks!! I have heard though that the oragel can make thier gums harder to break through....anyone ever heard this too??
Victoria 11-12-2006, 08:43 PM I heard that too! But when you child is in pain, you'll try anything reasonable and safe. It's MYTH!!! I even asked my dentist when at my appt a couple months back, and they never even heard of that!!! LOL!!!
*Crystal* 11-12-2006, 08:46 PM Thats good, I think thats one of the reasons I havnt used oragel too often!! I want those suckers to break through as soon as possible!!! lol!!!
Victoria 11-12-2006, 08:48 PM I know how ya feel!!! My son's 14 months old and his 5th tooth just broke through today. The 4th one broke through a couple days ago. He's a very slowwwwwwwwwwwwww teether!!! :(
