I feel horrible!!!:( Iris gets very very nervous when people come over, so I bought some Anxiety pills to help her calm down since my family is coming this weekend. Anyway, I feel bad because I feel like I drugged her up. Have any of you ever used anxiety pills on your animals?

We used these for our dog when we moved from Wa to Pa. He pretty much slept for the three days :lmao Once we got here he was fine though.

My aunt has to use them for her dog everytime there is a thunderstorm. She gets all droopy while she's on it but then gets better. Better to be doped than to deal with all the stress of strangers.

I bought her some calming medicine from the pet store. It is basically Valarean Root.

if your afraid of the pills/drops try a table spoon of bendadryl thats what my vet told me to use for Lucy b/c she freaks out when we go on car trips, it calms her down but doesn't knock her out. Yeah might want to check with your vet b4 hand but its should be ok b/c mine was who told me about it

My vet told me to use children's benedrayl (sp?) when I took him on a plane so he wouldn't freak. He just slept, and when he was actually awake, he was all groggy and not that reactive.

Check with your vet first...Certain breeds have severe allergies to certain medicines...Benedryl will wirk...You give them half of a child's dose...The reaction to it depends on your dog...I gave it to my old Cocker Spaniel when her allergies (pollen) got bad...It made her VERY groggy & unresponsive...Kid of freaked me out a little...But yes, Benedryl works...

When I was young and stupid (ok, 2 yrs ago lol) I gave our dog a capsule of valerian. I figured it can't hurt since it's only an herb.

It didn't calm him down at all but it made him fart for about 8 hrs straight.

You should always check with the vet first...Cause sometimes if you have a big dog just putting someone in the families tshirt on them will work during a storm...

We give the treats...It doesnt have all the hangover syptoms..
