We did JOP, but it was very nice. When we renew our vows for our 10 yr anniversary next year, we plan to do it in a church.

Vegas, Baby!! LOL! Didn't have to go to counseling. Renewed our vows and had a wedding a couple years later. The pastor knew we were married already, and just went through the ceremony as if we weren't.

Planning the wedding was hard, just because the ship's schedule kept changing and it drove me crazy. LOL! I think I changed the date twice and told the place where we were having it that it would probably change. They basically said that they understood, with Troy being in the military and that as long as new dates weren't taken, we could have them. But I think there was no turning back 30 days prior. LOL!

One of my good friends married us (he was ordained, so it was legal LOL). And we got married at Manresa Castle in Port Townsend, WA. It was great!

we were married by a judge outside at the same place that we had our reception. it was really nice because we didn't have to go to counseling and it was much more free and flexible to do have everything the way we wanted instead of by the rules of the church. we also told the reception hal that the date may have to be changed and they were fine with it as long as it took place within a year of our scheduled date..luckily everything went smoothly and we had an awesome wedding!

We got married in his hometown church while he was on leave. normally they require 3 weeks (?) of counceling. But since DH's family is very active at that church and we were only there for 2 weeks we only met with the pastor for a couple hours the day before our wedding.

Is it that you only need consuling if its through a church? and what is it for anyway?

Each State has their own laws for Marriage. In Florida you have to attend a "premarital course" in order to get your marriage license without a waiting period. It also saves you about $30 on the license itself, but you pay that $30 for the course, so you come out about even. If you don't take the course then there is a 3 day waiting period. Not sure what state your in, but usually you can find the laws online for your state. Hope this helps! Good Luck! :)

married by a preacher in a church. we picked the date we did because we had to wait 3 days after getting the license to have the ceremony and that is the day that worked best for us. we got married on jason's two weeks of leave between A and C school. didn't go to marriage counseling, didn't have to. some states make the license cheaper if you go first.

planned the whole thing in two weeks with the help of my mom and grandma.

We got our license by the clerks office and then got married by an officant at Balboa Park. It was a simple and sweet cermony.(L) I found th eofficant by calling ones from the phone book that offered mobile services.

we got married in My home Church.
Dh had attended many times.
The Preacher met with me a couple of times and dh once. Cause he came home on Wed and we got married on Sat.
I planned the entire thing with out dh cause he was on westpac.
We had our reception at the Country Club cause I wanted alcohol and music.
We picked up our liscense on Friday.
Other than that I can't think of anything else

we got married through court the day after his bootcamp graduation. 4 months later, after he completed A school, we got married through church.
