It'll be okay! If it's nothing serious then just some diet adjustments will do the trick. Poking your finger 4 times a day or more does suck though.

It's okay, Callie. Its nothing you've done or haven't done right. So, don't worry. Most of the time, it can be completely controlled by diet and you won't need insulin. Just be really strict with your diet or they will put you on insulin shots. My diet was very doable and actually helped me keep off all the extra preggo weight that most people put on in the end. They'll have you eat more protein, less carbs (And the carbs you do eat will be whole wheat and whole grain, for the most part), small servings of fruit, lots of veggies and no juices, limited milk (2, 1-cup servings a day). Its pretty easy to follow. Its actually very similar to weight watchers or south beach diet. :)

The finger pricking is no fun but you really do get used to it and once you figure out the best places to poke, it doesn't really hurt. My fingers got sore from constantly pricking them but it became second nature.

If you need anything or have any questions, just let me know! (L)
