Does anyone know anything about the Exeptional Family Member Program? I have been trying to find out about it on the tricare website, but there seems to be nothing there ( and btw tricare's website is really not user friendly) And when I call tricare I just don't want to wait to talk to someone.

What exactly do you want to know?

There are 5 levels (maybe 6) that you can be assigned to. Each one determines where you could be stationed but does not mean that the AD member will not go overseas or deploy.

I have friends that had twins at 25 weeks and they wont put them on the program. and another that had a baby born with spina bifida but is absolutely fine not at 1 year old but they got the highest level and will never have to move again.

What you are assigned to really depends a lot on who is looking at the file.

My son could be on it for ADHD but we dont need restrictions on our duty station for it so I see no sense in doing it.

Well my son has asthma as well as dh and we are trying to avoid Lemoore but I know when he makes chief chances are that is where he will go for his next duty station. And I flat out refuse to live there. and i really don't want to spend three or more years apart from him. I don't care about the overseas part, I just want to avoid living in El Centro again or going to Lemoore.

Well when he makes chief then ask for overseas. That shouldnt be a problem. My dh made it this year and they said Japan, Lemoore, or Bremerton.
