Hey...usually, depending on their division leaders, they have liberty until 9 some earlier, some later...
http://www.nsgreatlakes.navy.mil/honorrecruits.htm from there u should be able to access alot of info....
also, it really depends if they're grad n go....ur sailor should know that...when i was there, some of them left the same day, the next day..and some were suppose to leave but ended up having to wait... my husband ended up having to wait a week before reporting to A school...

When DH graduated some years ago, he was what they call a "Grad and Go" where he graduated, got to eat lunch with us, and then was on a bus to the airport to his A-school. That sucked, especially since I had come all the way from CA. But I didn't care-even a few minutes was better than nothing (his own parents didn't go to his graduation because he was a Grad and Go-sad, huh.).
My brother just graduated last July, and he was there the whole weekend before leaving for his school. He got to have Friday after the ceremony, and Saturday, and some of Sunday (he ended up having a watch Sunday so cut his time short that day) off. He could come out with us places, but had a curfew to be back at the base every night. A lot of people go to the Navy Pier which has some shopping and some rides and stuff. There's also a Museum near the Pier and an aquarium. If you go to the Navy Pier and then want to go to the museum or aquarium (they're right next to eachother), the cheapest/fastest way to get there is the Ferry. Also, expect to pay for parking.
It all depends on when their school starts as to when they leave after graduation. And it depends on if he ends up with a watch or not that weekend that'll determine if he gets to spend the whole weekend with you or not (regardless, he'll still have to go back every night).
Also, when they're out, there are a lot of rules they have to follow. They're not allowed to put their arm around your shoulders, they have to wear a uniform at all times (including issued swim shorts when swimming), when DH graduated they were always supposed to have a free hand to salute officers (my brother said they never mentioned this to him), and some other rules, so don't be surprised. If they're caught breaking the rules or miss curfew they get in big trouble (I think my brother said they wouldn't be allowed off base the next day).
Make sure to bring some ID, and if it's your car, have the registration and insurance with you-you'll need it. Also, be prepared to arrive early as they search every car before letting it on the base.

My dh had liberty that weekend but had to be back by 10pm every night.
His school was right there in Orlando where he went to boot, so we didn't have to worry about that part.
But no they don't get the "whole" weekend off

So if my dh is graduating on the 3rd and his orders to his a-school aren't until the 15th, do you think he'll be allowed to spend time with me after the weekend... say I stay there until the 8th, would I get to see him?
