We are starting to give our 11 month old daughter table food, my question is, what should we give her? What are things you gave your children at that age; and what are some thing you didnt give them?

I went to WalMart and bought a mini food processer. It was under $10..

I fed him the same stuff that I cooked for dinner, just chopped up.. I think it held a pint..

That way, when I put him in his high chair, and he begged for my food, I would give him a spoonful of mine, then a spoonful of his, and say, "See? It's the same-same!"

Tuna casserole, beef stew, lasagna, meatloaf, cabbage rolls, hamburger helper, chicken cordon bleu, venison steak.. It was the "same-same" to him, just chopped up...

I gave him everything that I had.. except shellfish and peanut butter.. He still says, "same-same", and he's seven...

The only thing I haven't given my children until they were 2 (like the doctor said) was honey because of the spores that can be in it. I wasn't as picky with the other allergist worry foods (like strawberries and peanut butter) .

I just gave my children what we ate as long as it was soft enough for them to chew and a size that they wouldn't choke on. They both didn't have many teeth at 11 months and I was much more paranoid with Madison than Hayden. Hayden just gobbles down anything and doesn't gag often.

He got everything we got at 11 months except shellfish and peanut butter and eggs. I didnt start eggs until 18 months (per our ped) and peanut butter not til 2 (per our ped) He also didnt get raw veggies. He did have a mouthful of teeth at 11 months so he would get almost everything we did just small. He is such a picky eater tho he usually just played with it (still does :lol )

Usually just whatever we were eating. Mac & cheese, applesauce, mashed potatoes, green beans, etc.

i bought one of those little food processer's and would grind up mac & cheese, fruit, spaghetti, green beans, carrots, anything i could think of that wouldn't hurt her. I also would give her mashed potatoes, which she loved, fried potatoes, dumplings, just anything that was soft.

Don't be worried or paranoid!!! Ethan only got his first tooth at 10.5 months. And now at 15 months, he has 6. :( He eats everything under the sun. His 1 tooth didn't prevent him from chewing. Before his first tooth came in, I put my finger in his mouth to see if I could feel anything and he chomped down so hard that my finger was bruised for several days. :( Their jaws/gums are strong and very well can mash things up!!!

Anywho...at 11 months we fed Ethan:
mashed potatoes, sweet mashed potatoes, potato casserole, Homemade and Kraft mac n cheese(he started eating a whole pkg of easy mac then), fruity Cheerios, semi-mushy mini-wheats in milk, eggs, peanut butter, pizza, grilled cheese, plain bread/rolls(he really likes/liked the King's Hawaiian dinner rolls), packaged fruity oatmeal, pickles, The Gerber Graduates mini-fruits and mini-veggies are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ethan never liked the Gerber Graduates meals. :(
Fig Newtons or mini-newtons.

I was paranoid too and my son had teeth. But please dont fall into the same mistake I did. I waited too long to give him table foods and he became the WORLDS pickiest eater, refusing almost everything but oatmeal and crackers and would only live on that. He rejected his baby food and everything. I even had to make an appt with a speech therapist to make sure there was nothing wrong with him because he didnt eat. And he was fine.

mashed potatoes
french fries
peas
green beans
mooshed carrots
hamburger meat
etc etc those are all great. Just use your judgement and keep a close eye on her

Oh yeah!!! Those are yummy too!!!! A local eatery makes those but they're shoestring ones. I think I'll pick-up some sweet potatoes to make some today..hehe!

My dd gave up on baby food by the time she was 9 months old...refused to eat it!! We started table food then...she ate pretty much all that we ate except for eggs, peanut butter, strawberries and honey. Her chicken we pretty much shredded and if we made hamburgers then I mashed that up.....she was gumming those little gerber snacks(star shaped ones) by the time she was 5 months old...those things are awesome because the kinda dissolve intheir saliva to so it's easy for them to eat
