1 lb. ground beef
1 sm. onion - chopped
16 oz. can tomato sauce
15 oz. can kidney beans - drained
15 oz. can pinto beans - drained
1 - 2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dried, crushed bay leaves
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce


-In a saucepan over medium-high heat, brown beef and onion, breaking up the beef while it cooks; drain off grease.
-Place all ingredients in a crock pot and cook on low heat for 2 hours

Another thing you could add to the chili is a little hot peppers, tobasco sauce. I also subsistute italian sausage or even bratwurst meat (both taken out of the casing) for ground beef. it is good and it adds a little to it that ground beef can't. I love to experiment and my wife is my perverbial "crash test dummy" but I don't make it too terribly hot b/c after all we don't have iron stomachs, lol

ooooooo weeeeee!!! I just hooked up your crock pot chili and I twisted it up. I added some things to it and it is WOW good. You may think it is weird but I added sausage instead of beef and I put some corn in it. I made it with red onions as well. thank you for the springboard for this recipe.
