Scarlett 12-13-2006, 09:01 AM I see there are a few of us here....
what do you use?
do you exclusively use cloth or do you use sposies also?
do you use cloth wipes?
what is your wash routine?
Any problems you want opinions on?
Any pics of your stash?
Does your husband use the cloth diapers?
We have a varied stash..Fuzzi Bunz, Happy Heineys, Very Baby AIO, Fitteds and covers, We have Pee Well fitteds that are awesome, Love the windpro fleece Sugar peas covers, Prefolds, dyed prefolds, Imse Vimse PUL covers, and my current favorite Snap-EZ pockets.
Cant do wool because I am allergic but love the look of wool longies and soakers. :drool
We are completly in cloth. Night time (Fuzzi Bunz with a toddler prefold) and trips out (Fuzzi Bunz or SEZ with Joey Bunz hemp inserts)
We love cloth wipes! we even have a box of cloth on the kitchen counter for "napkins" at all meals. (seperate from the ones we use for diaper changes)
Wash routine is cold wash/rinse, followed by hot wash with dawn and baking soda then hot wash, sometimes dryer dry but mostly line dry.
No problems except I am addicted to cloth! :oogle
No pictures but once I get the newborn/small diapers out to strip for the baby I will take some.....
My husband LOVES cloth diapers. He loves that they are nice and soft against their skin rather than the stiff sposies. he is also the one who really got me into cloth wipes. I ordered about 20 and was lukewarm on them and he loved them and asked when I was ordering more!

Teresa 12-14-2006, 08:54 PM I've never used them, but you are tempting me to try! Nathan has had some big blowouts lately and both the pampers and the huggies leaked! TMI but when he poops it shoots out really fast and if he's on my lap or anything it shoots all the way up his back :pukey My poor little guy!

We are out of the dipe stage but here's my reply any way! ;)
We used Bumkins, Little Lanes & Granny's Ark & well as some homemade.
We used 'sposies when she was younger but switched at under a year old.
We used cloth wipes for the most part.
I don't have any pictures of my stash anymore but I do have pics of DD in some of my favorite dipes.
Yes DH used the cloth as well.
Debra 12-14-2006, 09:08 PM Where do you buy them?
You can buy them online! I don't know what stores sell them since I bought all of mine online or swapped for them.
Punchie 12-15-2006, 03:01 PM what do you use?
I mainly use fitteds (Clothmopolitan, Spooky Kitty Collective, Muttaqin Baby, Mudpie Babies, BumGenius Bamboo, Swaddlebees). I do have some BG one size pockets, BG AIOs and a VeryBaby Simply Nights Hybrid. I use Bummis covers over the fitteds
do you exclusively use cloth or do you use sposies also?
Exclusively cloth. Sposies give her a HORRIFIC rash.
do you use cloth wipes?
Yes. I made my own. :)
what is your wash routine?
I wash every 3-4 days. I dunk and swish the poopy dipes. Then run a cold pre-soak and let the diapers sit in it for a minimum of 4 hrs, but preferrably over night. I put Bac-Out in the presoaking phase. Then I wash hot, rinse cold, second rinse cold. I use washing soda and simple green.
Any problems you want opinions on?
Nope. :) CDing is easy-peasy.
Any pics of your stash?
LOL, I don't have any, but I could take some since I just did laundry.
Does your husband use the cloth diapers?
Yes. He got a little confused at first, like putting them on inside out, but he doesn't have a problem with that now. He was onboard w/CDing from the get-go since his mom did it w/him and his brothers.
Punchie 12-15-2006, 03:03 PM Where do you buy them?
Online is the easiest way to find them. You can get them from companies all the way down to WAHMs. There are tons of sites/stores. If you want more info on CDing in general check out http://www.diaperswappers.com. It has a wealth of information.
Heather 12-15-2006, 04:25 PM what do you use?
I used gerber 100% cotton. The thin ones not the poly filld ones, and I used wraps for the outside I bought them at Fred Meyer 3 for $10
do you exclusively use cloth or do you use sposies also?
sposies=disposables right? We used them for Cory. For lily we used them when she was newborn and when she had toddler diarreah.
do you use cloth wipes?
only if they had a rash
what is your wash routine?
I'd wash every night with mild detergent and bleach in hot water
Any problems you want opinions on?
nope diaper days are long gone for us
Any pics of your stash?
nope
Does your husband use the cloth diapers?
he did since it was the only diapers we had. Its just as simple as disposables. I never asked him to wash them.
Scarlett 12-16-2006, 08:58 AM Where do you buy them?
online, or ebay....check out diaperpin.com you can buy new and used diapers
*~*Cori*~* 12-16-2006, 12:02 PM Ok yall are making me want to check into these and get some for our next baby! I guess they seem pricey but in the long run cheaper! And as long as you have a washer/dryer I think it would be pretty easy!! How neat and exciting! :)
*~*Cori*~* 12-16-2006, 12:14 PM Did any of you cloth diaper your toddlers...
Jerron is not potty training and of course it makes sense that pull-ups are still very absorbent and makes him lazier and lazier. He knows he can pee forever in those and just lay in it but I think with something else like this he would get soaked easier.. Well.. I tried using underwear on him but that was to no avail ither... he didn't care. Well, he did care but then wanted new ones just to pee in them asap. Its frustrating.... more so that he knows how and when to go potty just wont.... Just like Paul was... :mad
Scarlett 12-16-2006, 01:14 PM Cori~they have trainers that are like pullups....snap-ez.com or you can find them gently used on diapperswappers.com or diaperpin.com
There are some ways that are cheaper than others to cloth diaper...its up to you and what system you choose to use.
*~*Cori*~* 12-16-2006, 01:41 PM Thanks Sweetie! :)
Thanks for this post. I have every intention of using cloth diapers with my next child, mainly because we have had so many problems with my kids skin sensitivities to disposables.
This helped a lot! :D
Heather 12-17-2006, 01:22 PM On Lilys diapers I spent a total of $70. Thats only about $20 more then what I would have spent buying disposable in a month. She wore those diapers for a really really long time. I save a ton of money. Its not something you can get lazy about though they have to get washed each day or they get gross!
Punchie 12-17-2006, 01:32 PM Cloth diapers are as cheap or as expensive as you make them. :) You can go very simple and do prefolds (old school style) with snappis (much easier than pins! they're like little toothy clips) and a simple cover. You can get packages for under $80.
Plus...you can get used diapers. A lot of mine are secondhand.
