So I was just wondering what teething was like when your kids went thru it. Or are going thru it.

Jacob has been SOOO fussy and crabby. He doesnt want to eat much, he has diarrhea. Its just such a PITA I have to do this myself cause of course dh is conviently doing circles right now thanks to the navy :lol

Any good tips or suggestions to make things easier for Jacob and Mommy!!!!

Cam was fussy, often had spikey fevers and loose stools in her diaper. She hated teether toys, and stayed happy if she had a bottle of iced watered down juice. Orajel teeting swabs and tylenol worked wonders for us!

Cold/wet washcloths for E to gnaw on helped alot. He loved those! I would chill it in the fridge for him. Tylenol was a lifesaver. At night I did motrin for when like his molars and such came thru. Thos were the worst and the motrin lasted 8 hours. I rarely used that tho. Only did the motrin for the REALLY bad nights. Otherwise there wasn't a whole lot I could do. Just wait for the tooth to pop thru and stop bothering him. He wasnt too too fussy. Definatly more so with some teeth then with others.

G'luck

Well i just checked his gums and it looks like there a dark spot or hole or something by or on his tooth, wonder if thats where its gonna come thru at? This is all new to me. Going to be an adventure.

Madison was such a great teether, she would get a small fever, maybe a little cranky, but that was usually the extent of it. Her first one didn't come through until she was 9 months though, so maybe that had something to do with it, lol. Now that she's a little older, I can tell when she is because she constantly chews on her hands.

Yeah see Ethan was an early teether so maybe thats why he wasnt quite so fussy? I dunno. He had 4 teeth by the time he was like 6 months old and they just kept coming from there.

Try the washcloth. it might help. Also get some motrin if he is really in pain at night. I never used orajel (personal preference)

You may also try the mesh feeders with some frozen fruit in them. The little boy I nannied for loved to chew on frozen grapes in those while he was teething.

Teething wasnt too bad for us. I think the top two when they were coming in was a little rough but not as bad as what people would say. He never ran a fever or got a cold while teething. Just him him some tylenoyl and hopefully it will ease the pain a little bit. Good luck.

I'm taking care of a teething 5 mth old. She already has one tooth. She pretty much just fights naps, that's all. I've given her Orajel before, but it didn't really seem to do much. I think her drool took it off the swab before it got to her gums.

Michal was the same way but just nap when he naps. I gave him ice to suck on and that helped. Good luck

Madison wasn't too bad after the first few teeth came in, mostly she was very drooly, would get the poops, and spit up pretty bad the day before a tooth broke through. She'd also wake up once at night and cry out, then go back to sleep.

Hayden is just a beast. He sleeps like crap, doesn't eat as much, and is one big crabby pants besides all the drool.

Sabreena was an early teether too....she didn't have the typical signs of teething. In fact, we didn't even KNOW she was teething until one day she was chewing on my finger and I felt two little sharp things in front.
With a couple of her teeth, she's been a little cranky, but as far as fever and all the rest of that; nope.

I used to take wash cloths wet them, ring them out...then stick them in the freezer...Katrina loved that. Even now if she isn't feeling good she wants me to give her one. Also, I saw someone the other day when we were at the ER with Jacob, she had one of those mesh feeder thingies, and gave her son Ice in it...then the kid would just suck and naw to high...u know. Katrina did Tylenol but hated anything else, orajel, the tabs..and that syrup I told you about...but I HAVE NO CLUE WERE TO GET IT! sowwy. Teething is hard, but try to just be flexable...I spent alot of time letting the house go to pot letting life just pass just to get her through, really the only greatest soother for them is mommy...

My son gets really really sick when he teeths. he screams so much, right now he is getting his little molars in and he just walks around in circles yelling and getting mad at everything. he also usually gets ear infections when he teeths, but just minor ones. ill be so happy when he has all them things in. just in the last month 6 molars have poped through. at least its happing all at once.

There are also teething tablets that people say work miracles. I used orajel and he napped a lot! Nikolai hasn't started yet but Zach wasn't that bad while teething. I hope he starts feeling better!

Austin is a crab apple when he is teething. He drools more than a St. Bernard and chews on everything in sight. I'm lucky if I can get him to eat anything that isn't a popsicle or juice. I can not wait till all of his baby teeth are in. Only 4 more to go!!
