OMG I just bid on our wedding bands on ebay! We're not getting married for about another two years, but I found a wonderful pair of titanium bands for not much money. I am so excited! At first I thought I would wait until he got home to do this, but he called me today and said that if I can get a good price that I should go ahead and do it. :D He also let on that he bought an engagement ring in the UME. That is so cool! So excited!!!
thats awesome
titanium does scratch easier than gold though just so you know and it cant be buffed out.

We never wanted gold. Does it scratch easier than silver or white gold too? I always heard that titanium was very strong. That's why I bid on them, we're both rough on our jewelry.

White gold doesn't scratch too easily and if it does, it can be buffed out. Titanium can not, and I don't think platinum can either...

Titanium is very stong and very light, but it is also very hard to cut off (which is why it cannot be resized without ordering a whole new ring) I'm not sure if it scratchs easier than those metals but my husband has a titanium ring (not his wedding band though) and it scratches extremely easily.

What about tungsten steel?? Those don't scratch that easy....my dh has that and his still looks brand new after a year and a half!

Now I'm starting to regret bidding on a titanium band. We had planned to get it resized if need be at a local jeweler. I had expected that the rings would acquire a few scrapes through time. Maybe I should have just stuck with white gold or silver. 24.99 +s&h gone.

Is the auction over?? If not can you rescind(sp?) your bid??

The auction isn't over, but once you place a bid on ebay it's final until someone outbids you.

titanium is nice that is what we did for our vow renewals but we didn't get the shiny stuff either, and they are VERY hard to be sized

I now have the rings. They have a satin finish so we shouldn't be able to see the scratches too much. We also have the information for the ring company so we can contact them if they need to be sized.

Congrats!
If you want a durable, scratch-resitant ring, go with Tungsten. A lot of boat guys have them and so does Bryan. Very very recommendable!
