View Full Version : This is taking over my life
Kindra 01-27-2006, 12:44 PM My morning sickness is so horrible. Everytime i eat food i get sick. No matter what it is. Even if it's crackers or if it's a full meal. Once it hits my tummy i'm camping in my bathroom. THIS SUCKS SO MUCH!! This part makes me hate being pregnant. I can't wait for this to pass!
Any tricks?
For me, those sea bands helped (you can get them at Walmart, behind the pharmacy). Also, chewing Spearmint gum.
Sucking on Lemon Drops helped sometimes, but those 2 above helped the most.
Chicken Noodle Soup was the only thing that didn't make me feel sick...Maybe try that?
i had morning sickness until i was 6 1/2 months pregnant!!!:nutts the only thing that would make me feel better was just to get sick and get it over with. as long as i puked every morning i was fine.
Brandi 01-27-2006, 01:18 PM I feel for ya.
Just eat what you can and try to rest as much as possible. I found that carbs were the only thing I could stomach. Noodles, potatoes, toast, crackers, rice, etc. Although, rice is HORRIBLE when it's coming back up, so be careful with that one.
Strong mints helped. I liked the altoids in the blue container.
Gatorade helped a lot. I liked the fruit punch.
Ginger Ale was okay but I got sick of it after a while.
I had heard that Gaterade seemed to help, but that just made me sick.
Yeah, altoids...Forgot about that one....That & gum :thumbsup
wow... congrats!! i missed where you said you were pregnant. congratulations!! :)
LaneyBug 01-27-2006, 02:07 PM I'm so sorry! Nothing seemed to help me when I was pg with my youngest. I hated how no one could understand either!
I don't have any advice, but I feel for you!(L)
Kellie 01-27-2006, 02:20 PM Nothing made me feel better except for Meds. With Ashtin I had was put on Phenergan up until the last month.I was on it with Gavin and Mark-Paul. I hope you feel better. Maybe you should talk to your Doc. if you can't keep anything down, they might want to put you on something.
CoffeeGirl 01-27-2006, 02:37 PM peppermint always helped me too
ChristieJGIB 01-27-2006, 09:54 PM when I was pregnant I couldn't eat anything in the morning either....so I would just drink a protein shake when I got up (the kind that tastes really good like spirutein or something ) it would hold me until i got over my sickness.
Domini 01-27-2006, 10:09 PM I didn't think it worked when I was pregnant, but my grandmother swore up and down that if you eat saltines in bed before you get up you won't get sick
Kindra 01-28-2006, 11:30 AM If i don't eat i'm fine. But the moment i do eat i'm sick. I have been really careful on what i eat but man this sucks!! Thanks for all the advice. I have been drinking peppermint tea everyday and it helps for a while. I should try the gatorade.
dollface 01-28-2006, 04:16 PM I lived on Jasmine Tea, ginger chewy candies (they're spicy but sweet and settle your tummy) and saltines for the first 4 months. Protein shakes were also good. Toward the end I pretty much lived on salads and other light foods. Hope you feel better...try the ginger chews or jasmine tea...also chamomile tea.
Michele 01-28-2006, 08:04 PM I'm sorry :( I know all too well what a horrible feeling that can be. I had it really bad with my first. The only thing I could keep down was milk. I never actually threw up (maybe twice) but I had that constant feeling like I was on the verge. I hope you find some relief :hugs
IgglesmumX2 01-29-2006, 07:41 AM I'm so sorry for you!! With dd I had severe hyperemis (morning sickness so bad that you lose more than 5% of your body weight) and was in the hospital for over 3 months of my pregnancy. I had it all 9 months too...lost 31 pounds. Anyway, I had to use meds which you might want to talk to your OB about. I have heard from some people that the preggo pops work really well, I've heard the munch on 3 saltines before you even sit up in bed, carbs, no dairy.
Angie 01-29-2006, 09:28 AM I hope your morning sickness will get better soon for you
Heather 01-29-2006, 12:02 PM i ve heard those preggy pop drops work and the sea bands too. I was really sick with my daughter from day one. Nothing helped. I got so sick one day I had to go to the hospital and they gave me some nice meds. It was the only 6 hours out of the whole time I wasn't sick. I ate lots and lots of saltine crackers. I kinda thought maybe my daughter might smell salty but she didn't!
