Ok here's my situation....When I met David he had just gotten out of the army. We've been together for almost 2 years and recently we have talked about him joining the Coast Guard. My problem is I'm not sure how to handle my ex when it comes to the kids if David ends up getting stationed somewhere else. We will of course be married by the time he goes in. My ex and I have joint custody with me having physical custody. We are hoping to get stationed somewhere in Va to begin with but of course there is no guarantee. I plan on talking to my lawyer about this but just wondered if anybody else has had to deal with it and if so how did you resolve it. He is such a pain in the ass about everything I can only imagine what he will be like about this.

He can make things rough. My little sis is stuck in IL because of her ex. He somehow got a judge to believe that he is the "perfect" dad, and there is an order that my sis cant take her daughter out of state. good luck it can get messy!

awww your poor sis! That really sucks. I did get to talk to my attorney about it this morning because it looks like David may go ahead and join a lot sooner than we thought. He said with the way my ex is and has been since he left he can drag me into court but chances are with it being a military situation he would let me go without any problems. We are still hoping to end up somewhere in the state to begin with but it's nice to know what i'm dealing with ahead of time.
