We don't live in Bangor, we live in Everett, but I hate it. THe weather sucks!!! It is always rainy and I can't remeber the last time I saw the sun! As for the jobs and school, I can't give you much info I'm a SAHM. I had a job for about a year here and had no problems getting one. The cost of living here is high, and school is expensive too, but I hear that the school are good. Sorry I couldn't help more.:dunno

The weather has been extremely rainy, but only during the winter. This past summer was really nice.

We have Olympic College right here in Bremerton. Here's the link: http://www.olympic.edu/splash.htm They do hold some classes right there on Bangor.

I'm a SAHM, so I'm not really sure about the job market.

I personally love it out here> sure, it was a rainy winter but I'm used to that from Germany. Scenery wise it is just absolutely beautiful. I also like that it isn't anything too big, but not too small either. At least not for my taste. Can't help you much with job market and college yet although I've seen lots of 'help wanted' kind of signs.

The base hospital is good, I guess. That's where I'm having the baby. It can be a bitch to get an appointment sometimes, but you're going to find that at any military hospital. If you get housing and live in Jackson Park you could walk to your appointments when it's nice. It's really close.

okay thanks, and your right every military hospital does have its pains when it comes to appointments. my fun will be changing my tricare to whichever they have over there and getting my records.

Records aren't that big of a deal really. Are you coming from another military hospital? I just noticed you said db, not dh. You can't hand carry your records anymore, you just go the records office of your current mtf with a copy of his orders and they get sent here. As for tricare, that shouldn't be that big of an issue either. Just go to the tricare desk here at Naval Hospital and tell them you need to switch your tricare here. If you decide to be seen at Family Practice here, I highly recommend either Dr. Hoover or Dr. Ewing (sp?). Both are women and they are both as nice as can be. Dr. Hoover is who I am seeing for my prenatal care and this is actually the first time ever that I haven't minded going to the doctor. She's got a good sense of humor and she actually listens to what you have to say.

I am coming from another military hospital, my mom is still active duty for another 18 months. I'll keep those docs in mind i hate having ones who don't listen. :) thank you airyn

I saw Dr Ewing when I had my colposcopy done and she was great. You can either go to the Navy hospital but there is also a clinic on Bangor. Problem there is that when I signed up here there were no female doctors cause they are all deployed at the moment. lol But the one I have is a young doctor who seems really nice. Very new to it though. lol
