ok..So if my db has been gone for a week and and five Days...Should I expect letter from him this week?

My husband said don't expect one yet. You don't get ANY mail privilages for the first week and mail is slow in and out. It also all depends on your unit.

i got my first letter about the 3rd week after he left, they onl can send mail out on sundays and most of the time only have time to write on sunday also.Usually the second sunday they are there they will write and the mail usually gets to you the next thursday or friday after that sunday. i got my first letter 11 days after he left, so i guess it all depends, never EXPECT it, there may be a week or so that they are too busy to write at all

I agree. Do not expect anything. He might or might not be able to write. When my ex was in bootcamp I got a total of 2 letters.

Wow only 2 letters! I got one every week starting the 2nd week. He said he always got afew hours on sundays to write and sometimes he would write after lights out so id get a nice long letter on those weeks. I did not get a letter the last week becuase he was in battlestations on sunday. The other girls are right never expect anything and dont get upset at him most likely its not his fault

Me too!! :yes I looked forward to Thursday's SOO much, because that was letter day!!! It helped me get through it and it went pretty quick that way.

i got mine in about the 3rd week. i remember one week though they forgot to mail out the mail so i got the letter a week late and i was all upset because i hadn't gotten his letter yet. i got one every week after the first one though
