We're on the verge of a move from San Diego to Jax (mid-February time frame, but you know how that is). I'm from northwest Florida and not very familiar with Jax. I've been looking at apartments on line and it seems every apartment complex I've looked at has a horrible rating on apartmentratings.com. Now, I'm sure that the majority of people who take the time to rate apartments are also the ones who are pissed off, but I'm feeling kind of discouraged. I've had bad apartments before (not horribly terribly happy with the one I'm in now), and I don't want to get stuck in a bad situation while DH is at sea. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appretiated!! :D

We're looking in the Orange Park area. DH has been spoiled by living within biking distance of North Island and wants to be as close to NAS Jax as possible. :nutts

There are some really nice apartments on Roosevelt Blvd. which is where the base is located. They are about 15 minutes away from the base though, towards Green Cove Springs. Which ones have you looked at online?

That is the area I live in, except I own a home. The apartments there are super nice! There is a beautiful apartment community right behind the post office and Walgreens off of Blanding that looks really great! If you need info let me know!

Yup, its called Creekside...but I think its a little on the pricey side for being on the westside...how about just living on base?

Wells Road has alot of nice apartments on it. We lived for 2 years in Mariners Wharf. Check them out! We had a 2 bedroom with a fireplace over looking the pond,bridge and pool..it was nice!! they arent too bad and you will be in the center of EVERYTHING in orange park! Good Luck

You can use rent.com and if you pick one of the apartments from there which I think pretty much all the apartments in jax are, then the website will give you 100doallars we did it when we first moved here and we got a check card for the 100 a few weeks later if you are interested.
