i have been told that with the navy it can take months to just get a home on base b/c of a waiting list i was woundering if that was true with the army to

It depends on where you are stationed and what rank your s.o. is. When we moved to Fort Campbell, dh was an E4 and they told us it would be about 6 months to a year for a house on post. Now that dh is an E5 the wait has upped to about 2 years. But, just because they give you a 6 months to a year timeline doesn't neccesarily mean it will take that long. Somtimes it's shorter and sometimes it's longer, just depends on how long the list is.

Yeah it cant take up to two years sometimes. Depending on what base.
