With standard you can go to a civlian but be prepared to pay. You will have to meet a yearly deductible and pay copays and the like. And prime has priority over standard at MTF's usually. I would fill out the paperwork for Prime. It doesnt cost anything and you can get the forms on their site and fill em out and send em in.

Your copay is what you'd pay. As long as it is a civlian that takes standard. Always ask!

You can call tricare and ask for a list or you can call OB's in your area and explain you have tricare standard and need a post partum check and was wondering if they accepted that insurance

I am on standard. I used to be on Prime, but don't like the military docs. We do pay deductible and copays but it makes me feel better to see my civilian doctors.

When we first got married, i missed the cut off for prime that month (day wise) and I was enrolled as a remote with standard until the 1st of the following month. I didnt use it cause it was cheaper to keep using the low income clinic that I was before we got married.

Nicole there is a tricare office in the clinic next to the NEX. You can go in and talk to a tricare person that way you odnt' have to talk to someone over the phone. Good Luck!

in the process of getting it set up but i need an apt real soon and i wouldnt make the date to be covered by it.

My kids and I had remote standard for a few months. I called tricare and they couldn't tell me where to go to find a Dr. that accepted it so I just opened up the phone book and started calling. you will have to pay a precentage of what ever the total ends up being. I think I had to pay full price for perscriptions. I only had to buy a round of antibiotics for my daughter and they were $10. Good luck!

Nicole...did you go to a military hospital or civilian? Either way, find out who the OB doctor was that saw you in the hospital. You need to follow up with them. I don't know about a normal delivery, but you may already be covered under the global time period after a procedure...basically whoever billed you first has already gotten paid and no one will get paid for anything in regards to that until 90 days is up. Because of that it would be hard for you to follow up with anyone desides one of the doctors that saw you in the hospital.
