Hi everyone! My name is Desiree and I currently live in Las Vegas. My boyfriend is on his second tour in Iraq and found out a few months ago his tour just got extended. It looks as though he should be heading back to Germany within the next couple of months though! :woohoo I will be going to Germany to see him in March if everything goes according to plan. The reason I decided to join this support group is because most of my friends are not familiar with the military way of life so when I need someone to talk to about things they don't really understand. This deployment has been difficult on Mike, the kids (I have two little boys from a previous relationship), and myself. The kids are having a hard time understanding why Mike can't be home with us and I have a hard time getting my youngest to understand. So any suggestions any of you may have would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to getting to know all of you and hope that I may be of some help to those that are in the same situation as me.
