well i am just thinking because if we keep cingular then we can just renew the contract here and change the number when we get there because i am sure no one will want to call a hawaii number when we arent even there. also another ???

do any of you have a home phone along with your cells or do you find it unneccessary there?

We had cingular and switched when we got out here. But it was a personal preference thing and my rates were batter with verizon since cingular didnt have the same plan I was on back in WA so I paid the same amount and got less minutes...Oh and FYI..WHen we tried to just change our number we had to sign a whole new contract. So evenb if you renew in Hawaii you will still end up resigning a new contract when you change your number here. At least thats what cingular did to us

Yes I have a home phone. I would be lost without it. It doesnt cost alot. I get free long distance etc for 1 flat rate etc

We had Cingular before we moved here but we had to sign a new contract to get new numbers. Good thing you mentioned that, Kristi. I forgot there for a moment. Since they had us sign a new contract anyways we changed up our plan, too. We both got new phones and we have that family plan thing. We have some family and friends that also have Cingular so we get call them for free, too. We don't have a house phone here. We have a cable modem so no need for one. We had one in FL. and everyone called our cell phone anyways, except telemarketors.
