In a measuring cup I put a packet of lipton onion soup mix and 2 cups of water. I mix it together and pour it over. Then cook it on med for 6-8 hours. The very last half an hour I take half a cup of water and 2 tablespoons of flour and mix together and pour that in and stir well to thicken the juice up just a tad. I like to put cut potatoes, carrots, celery and anyother veggie i have in there too. As for water, put (depending on your crock pot size) something like a cup or two of water in the bottom. Here are some recipes http://www.cooks.com/rec/search/0,1-0,crock_pot_pot_roast,FF.html Hope this helps! navyaowife2005 01-13-2007, 10:47 AM Thanks ladies!!!!! You were a big help!!!!!! :mrgreen :hugs Traci 01-13-2007, 12:32 PM I use either bullioion and water or beef gravy. Whatever I happen to have. I put enough in to about halfway cover the roast. I add onions, pressed garlic, mushrooms, carrots and potatos then slow cook it all day. It is so good. |
