so how long did it take you to get pregnant? I am leaving it so you can choose more then one.

We weren't trying...and I was on BC...

was on BC for 3 of them... Chris is the only one that we tried for and it took 2 years.

It took us 7 months from the time I stopped taking my pill. After a year...one should check w/ a fertility specialist...My doc said if it took us over a year, he was going to prescribe Clomid.

It took us one try with DD! We are trying for a second right now but so far we have only tried once!! Ill let you know how that goes!

now that we are trying its been 4 months and nothing

The first time we werent trying, this time it took us 9 years.

This is DH and I's 1st of course and we have been trying for 4 months... but actually super active trying like trying to figure out "o" and all... 3 mths.
I can't test till atleast Friday but I am going to go with no this month... I don't feel it at all. I mean I know you don't have symptoms this early usually but I just don't feel it in my heart. Plus I haven't had a cycle since Nov 24th... so I haven't been able to use my monitor. But, judging by the CM I "o" around 6th of Jan. But I could be way off just the CM was more than usual and right consistency. So we went for it. If not... well that was a fun month of trying! :giggle

9.5 years to get pregnant with my son (I did end up needing testing, using fertility medication etc)
no time with this baby. We just decided to stop preventing and it happened.

I was on BC when we got preggers! Hopefully we will start TTC next fall :yahoo

for z, when i got married, we stopped using BC a month or so after we said "i do" -- we weren't TTC at all but we weren't preventing.... i got pregnant about 8 months into our marriage....


for this one... it took us 2 tries... the 1st try of them being the month i went off BC so we don't really count that.

Honestly, the second that Dh looked at me and I wasn't on BC, I got preggo. One shot, one kill. LOL.

The one time I didnt use bc it happened and also have gotten preggos off the pill

It took us about 1.5 years maybe a couple of months over that (I am not counting the months that DH was gone)

Our first was a total suprise, the second took a little over a year and our third was a total surprise also.

We got pregnant on the first try...so I guess I would say 1 month. :)

We didn't use charting or anything. As soon as we went on Christmas vacation to San Diego, that's when I got pregnant. So I'm a firm believe of "Don't think about it and it will happen..."

Infertility is actually more common then once thought. Which is why I wish they would teach it with sex ed. I mean I thought have unprotected sex and get pregnant. Hah nope. So it took me awhile to seek a Dr's help. Once I found 1 that knew what was wrong and knew what meds to put me on, I got pregnant my first cycle on those meds. It just so happened to be 9.5 years after we started trying. I guess thats why I giggle when people say "stop trying and it'll happen" That may be true for some but for people like me it wasnt. No amount of sex was going to help me.

They also say you only have a 25% chance in any given month to get pregnant even if conditions are right, the sperm meets the egg etc. Which is why Dr's say give it a year.

Johnny: 3 months we didn't use anything but 2 months we were trying.

And the newest addition: Lets see here......8 months. Had to do some number crunching for that one. I had Johnny Sept. 27, got my first AF the very end of Nov. but John was gone then and didn't come back til Christmas Day.

I got pregnant with Kaylin the 1st time we had unprotected sex - our wedding night. We weren't "attempting," we just weren't avoiding. With Cady, we tried for about 4 or 5 months. Our families think I am Fertile Myrtle and he has Super Sperm! :lol

We didnt use any protection for 5+ years but officially trying would be about 4 months.

I was on bc and ex h and I were having sex for 3 months when I got pregnant with Ethan, when we were trying for Elizabeth it took us 3 months. My now dh were dating 3 months when we decided to have sex and then on the 3rd time we did we got pregnant with Emilee also on the pill.

It took us almost 2 yrs. But I was a heavy smoker and he was a very heavy drinker so that had alot to do with us no getting preggo fast.

When I got preggo we weren't even trying. Since then though we've been trying whenever he's been home....almost 2 years since the mc.

it took us a year and a half. when the year mark came up my doc automatically refered me to the infertility clinic (she knew we had been trying and didnt even have to ask any questions). the infertility thing was sooooo heartbreaking and painful. it was all done in the middle of christmas and new year, during my husbands surgery, and during a mini deployment of a little over a month, so we went through a lot during all that. and its sooooo time consuming. i had to go for a pap and this other thing, and they checked me for endometriosis all on my first appt. then i had to meassure my temprature for a month and keep trying as usual (as if that doesnt put a strain on it!) then we found out that i dont ovulate normally. my body just does it when it feels like it....its really weird!! my pap and endo test came back fine, but then they said that my hormones were all screwy and b/c one of my hormones (a specific one) was over the limit by almost half, then that was a sign of some bad problems.....so i was terified!!! they told me that i may have a brain tumor wrapped around my patuitary which aparently is very common when this hormone is too high. so the morning my hubby left for the mini deployment i had to have an MRI with this dye stuff shot into me. then, they decided to check my uterus with the same dye shooting thing to make sure my falopian tubes where clear and working corectly. finally, my results came back about 2 weeks after my hubby got back in feb.....like the last week of feb. by that time we had given up trying. then, we stopped with all the fertility stuff cuz it was getting to be too much and decided we would go back to it in a couple of years. so we went to maui (we were stationed at pearl harbor) for a dependants cruise and i got sea sick wich i never ever do, but was fine on land, but i missed my period that i was supposed to have that weekend, but cuz i didnt ovulate regularly my periods were off by about two weeks give or take, so we didnt worry about it. but i took a pg test anyway just hoping and it came out negative. then we came home and he went underway and that whole week he was gone i was burping like crazy. i just would burp and burp and burp. and i wouldnt even have to drink anything. it was weird!! then he came home the first week of febuary and the next morning we went down to the clinic to have a pg test done cuz i still hadnt gotten my period, but the urine test came back negative. so we thought well then whats wrong with me!!! well the doc thought it was weird so he sent me back to the lab for another urine test and a blood test....and the urine came back negative again, but he said to come back in 30 mins to get the results of the blood test. so i just thought it would be another negative. so we got breakfast and came back, and i was feeling sooo sick by this point, then we went in and they called us back like 15 mins later and said congratulations! you're pregnant!!! i started to baaaaaaaalllllllll! it was crazy! they said i was about 7-8 weeks prego which means, that right after the first week they were gone for that mini deployment, they had decided to come home for the weekend to make some additional repairs before going any farther...well that weekend was the weekend!!! thats when i got pregnant!! so if his ship hadnt been fucked up we wouldnt have elizabeth!!! but when i went back to the fertility doc....she also does obgyn regular stuff, she talked to me about what had happened. well she thinks that when they checked my uterus and shot that dye stuff in me, she thinks that i might have had a small blockage and the dye probably flushed it out. so yay! it was sooo amazing! but i'm telling you....you will get pregnant when you least ever ever ever expect it!!!
