Freeze them beforehand, then take it to the PO straight out of the freezer. :D

I never heard of freezing them. Everyone always told me to put the cookies in ziplocks with sandwich bread. The cookies absorb the bread's moisture or something to stay fresh-when they arrive, the bread is hard as a rock but the cookies are still fresh and soft and good to go!

Also, to keep them from getting too crumbled from the other stuff in the care package, I put the ziplocks in disposable hard storage containers.

Good Luck!!

I have heard of putting the cookies in Pringles cans.

I found that when I used ziploc bags they always wound up in crumbs. So I bought gladware to ship DH's cookies...and I sent 2 batches a week :D Gladware is great, and coffee cans work well too - though I can't take credit for the coffee can idea, I got it from someone else but I can't remember who :lol

I always seal them in plastic bags with bread, then freeze them, then put them in cheapo gladware or coffee cans with lots of padding, then into a large sturdy box with at least one inch of padding around all sides, then ship it the fastest way possible(priority makes it to APO/FPO addresses in about 1 week).

My parents sent my hubby cookies last time he was over and they put them in a ziploc bag and then into a galdware container and there were still moist and all together..
