Ok, gals... I'm back for more help. I'm working on a care package. I want to send homemade goodies in the box but know that there are some things that need to be taken into consideration due to travel and temperature issues.

So, I'm looking for recipes and links to recipes that will survive the trip! Any suggestions are welcome! Let me know if you've tried them and how they turned out..

Being that Valentine's is coming up, I think this first box will be a themed box. (not that I'm all that into Valentine's but, hey, who doesn't love a romantic theme?)

Thanks,y'all!

Yes, I hope someone suggests some yummy baked goods, because I am curious about that too.
My DB was deployed once before, and he told me to send him tuna, ramen, and instant coffee, because it is easy to make. Also chewing gum. He said stay away from chocolate because it could melt.
For Valentines Day package, so far I have gotten him candy hearts with the words on them and a bouquet of yummy heart shaped lollipops!

I made mine oatmeal raisin cookies, everyone thought I was :screwy because I individually wrapped each cookie and then put them in a ziplock bag (with the air sucked out) and then put them in a container so they would stay fresh and not break. :giggle They made it there in one piece and were still fresh. :D

How about sugar cookies?

Any kind of baked good as long as it is not chocolate. I have also sent brownies and wraped them like explained above. Oatmeat Rasin, Peanut Butter and Sugar are all good. remember to pack extra for his friends. I learned that the hard way. So now when I send packages I put large amounts of snacks because all the guys he works with want some.LOL
