Hey all,

I'm *gasp, shock* new to the forum. I'm Del.

I met my current SO towards the end of high school (yeah, we're that couple). We've been together for just about a year now (March), and we're just about done with the not-joys of training periods (he's in the Navy). I'm in college in Seattle, and he's finishing up A-school in Pensacola, Florida, so we're about as far across country from one another as is possible.

The last five months have been pretty rough (what can I say? I'm a spoiled girl - I like my boy where I can see him!), especially boot camp, :sadeyes but I'm even more terrified for Whatever Comes After.:worried

Though, I am fairly happy otherwise ATM, since we got to spend two weeks together over the winter holidays (flying across country? Not fun), and hopefully should see each other in March.

So I'm all new and confused and hopelessly in love enough that I put up with all this. :inshock

:welflash Hey and welcome to SOS! I know what you mean about being across the country from one another! My husband was stationed in Hawaii while we were engaged and I was living in SC!! It was absolutly crazy!!! Hard, but we did it!! YAY!! Anyway, hope to talk to you!!

I totally understand about the long distance... my fiance and I started dating in high school too, but we went to college ... me in SC and him in VA. I'm still in SC, graduated, teaching first grade, but he is finishing up his degree in VA still.

Distance sucks, but as long as you're "hopelessly in love enough to put up with it"... it's way better than being close geographically to someone you're NOT quite in love with. :-)

Eee! Thanks all. Yeah, long distance, not so much fun (and good to know I'm so not alone!), but it is definitely better than being close to someone that you just "kinda like." I am so glad to be meeting all of you!
