If you were in charge of making up laws what would be the first one you would make? and why?

i would make a law that would make the use of marijuana legal. I know that makes me sound like some hippy pot smoking teenager. BUT truth is, i have never ever smoked pot and never ever will. I just feel that if alcohol is legal marijauna should also be for persons over 21... it has less addictive affects as well as the fact that it does less to prevent a person from functioning at a normal level.

My law would be that everyone who was preggo would have to take mandatory parental classes. You can't stop people from getting pregnant but shit, there is way too many deadbeat parents out there bringing innocent children into a f'ed up home.

i made a law in high school, well actually a bill which was passed in our mock legislature and made a law ;)

my law was against sex offenders and for first offenses increased jail times, second offenses required depo shots (cuz at that time they were testing it on males to see if it lowered sex drive and it did), and then third offenses were mandatory castration.

can you tell that sex offenders piss me off? my class was mostly males and it passed too :D

I would make a law requiring all sports coaches dealing with children under the age of 18 to have thorough and complete background checks, conducted by a third party and paid for with proceeds generated from the absorbitant fees these days to play in the first place.

:yes I would agree with that. I also like the idea of mandating a parenting class. Perhaps in highschool all children should be required to take parenting and financial management classes to prepare them for the basics of caring for themselves and their families.

I agree with all of those. Mine might be that all animals must be fixed.

But if all animals were fixed then we would be one generation away from extinction!!! :(

my law would be that you have to speak english in order to become a citizen..now i am sorry if i sound racist but i hate the fact that we cater to non english speaking people..i got turned down for many jobs because i wasn't billengual(sp?) now that is crap..either teach kids at a young age how to speak more than one language or uphold the vote that was made years ago that states ENGLISH is the language of our country...

In order to become a citizen you actually do have to pass a test. Here are some sample questions. http://www.800citizen.com/sampleQuestion.htm You do NOT have to pass a test if you want to become a permanent resident though

I just feel sad thinking about all the animals that die every year. You can alter it if you want, and I'll think about passing the new law. hehe

i agree with the english thing. when i worked in retail people would come up to me in spanish, chinese, japanese, and i even got the occassional farsi speaking person asking me where something is. i'm sorry but if working at a clothing store or grocery store is not my career then why in the hell should i have to learn to speak your language. i don't care if you speak it at home or with your friends/family but come on you should know how to ask where the bathroom is or where are the shirts or where is the bread in english

I would make a law requiring people to take a test to become parents! HAHAHA I know this is impossible but if you have to take a test to drive and get a job, then you should have to take one to have a child's life in your hands!

People must pass a test to become citizens, and it is in english. Just because people don't speak perfect English doesnt mean they don't understand it. I'm sorry but I'm tired of people saying, oh I didn't get this job because I don't speak this language. Its not the people's fault, the people are not 'making' the businesses hire bilingual employees, the businesses chose to do so for the sake of capitalism. The whole thing with someone having to know spanish or another language to work somewhere is the fault of the businesses, they are trying to make money and to them the only way to get money out of people is to cater to them and target them. What better way to sell to people than speaking their language.
