Where do I need to get the marriage liscense? Do I need to get it in the state we're getting married in or in the state where I'm a legal resident?

My dh and I got married in the courthouse, we had to have our liscense for the county we were getting married in. We had to go to the courthouse in Madison County and with a Madison County Lisc. that court house is the only one we were allowed to get married in even though we live in Macoupin county.

We'll be getting married in West Virginia. I'm assuming we'll be married in Mercer or McDowell County.. Do you have to get married in the county courthouse where you're a legal resident?

Where we live you can go toany county you choose to and get married no matter which one you live in. Like I said, we live in Macoupin county and we wanted to get married in Madison county.

My husband and I had a courthouse wedding exactly one week befor our ceremony. He had just got out of A school, had two weeks before he had to be in California. We did the courthouse wedding so we wouldn't have to wait weeks for a our marriage license to come back. Since he had the marriage license when he got to his duty station, the military paid for the move from Virginia. That saved us a good $3000.

you could always wear a cute white sundress, if it's not super cold that is...ohhh or maybe a super sexy white pants suit those are hot!!

my bf and i almost considered a court house wedding, but he didn't get to go home here in san diego for the holidays, so we'll have a nice wedding when he comes back later this year =]

bout what to wear, i have a friend who got married in a courthouse. she wore a plum evening dress. nothing too fancy. depends btw too where you're from and how the weather will be like.
