does anyone know what my husband will be paid while hes in bootcamp. I'm a SAHM so I am trying to budget our money for while he's in bootcamp. He's joining the navy if that makes any difference I dont know.

they get whatever the pay is for their paygrade, i believe.

it takes 3+ weeks for their first paycheck too, from what i remember. it's been so long since i've had an SO in boot... LOL

MAKE SURE YOUHAVE A POA BEOFRE he leaves.. if not your screwed !!


I had to sign paper work when sherman was leaving stating I was aware that I wouldn't have access to his money while being gone... i hope that it was just the marines... and that with the navy, he can actually get it to you....

While you are in boot camp you get paid as if your rank is private.

DH just graduated at the beginning of Dec. so I've recently went thru the same thing! I got his regular pay (note that while he's in bootcamp (for the first 4 months I believe) pay isn't as much as it will be later even if it's for the same rank. We also got BAH and Separation Pay ($250/month). If you have any questions PM me!

How much was BAH? That's Basic Allowance for Housing, right? My husband just left for BMT for the Airforce, and he went in as an E-2 because of college credits. So will he get paid as an E-2 while in Basic? And how many weeks does he get paid for when the first paycheck comes?
