Ok, I finally remembered to call Tri Care to get my info changed from moving here from Fallon, that way I can get into a doctor for my pregnancy. My closest Treatment Facillity is Balboa, BUT there are no PCM openings at the time there. I was told that I could choose a civilian from the TriWest site, those that are PCM's. Ok, here's my dilema. I have a list of OBGYNs to choose from... does anyone have one they have heard good things about? In Fallon, I had a list of 3 to choose from, it wasn't that hard, here I have like 16. :freakout

Any advice anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. :tysign

Really you didnt like Nancy? I had her and loved her bluntness. But maybe she was different at that time. Im sorry she was that way with you.

Ok back to the subject. I have Christine Cortez at NTC. I REFUSE to go to Balboa due to the parking situation. Id rather drive a little further.

Christine is pretty cool. I like the midwife clinic at NTC

Are those Civilian OB's or OB's at balboa?

You should be able to go to Balboa or NTC( midwife clinic) for OB care

Yea, parking is awful. I saw Dr. O'Neil with Chris at NTC, but she moved over to Balboa right after I had him. But then again, i have to see a dr and not a midwife.

I had Christine Cortez too, well until she went and had her baby. She is awesome. I've never had a Dr. for my pregnancies and for a Reg. Dr. I just see whomever they send me too at NTC. :goodluck

Those are civilians. When I talked to Tricare, I told her I was pregnant and really needed to get in, and she said they weren't taking new patients at Balboa. I took that to mean all the areas including OB. Maybe I will just call Balboa myself tomorrow and see. This is all confusing. Maybe the lady meant for my Primary Doctor I had to see a civilian. Arghhh... I still gotta find the boys' a doctor.

All of my kids see Dr. Jerrard at NTC he is very good with the kids. :D
Balboa does take OB patients, as well as NTC. I'm not sure where you live, but there are clinics in chula vista, miramar, ntc, and they are opening one in santee someday soon.

Unless you are high risk, you dont have to be seen by a dr. You can be seen by a midwife.

Have you had the + test put into your medical records yet? If not, go to Balboa and have it done. Preg tests are done on a walk in basis. Then they will set you up to speak with the nurse and she will evaluate whether you can see a dr or midwife. Then you can make your first appt.

If you have already done the test and stuff... just go to balboa and let them know that you just moved here and need to get set up here.

Them telling you that you cant be seen at Balboa is more likely for primary care. Peds is FULL and they closed the primary clinic because of staff shortages.

Yes, I made sure before we left Fallon to get a test there and have it put in my records. :)

I'm not high risk, at least I don't think so unless have repeat c-section is one, but I don't really think so. I just wanna be seen. hehe

I will call Balboa tomorrow. Now that I really think about it, yeah she was probably just saying a primary doctor not available.

Thanks.:)

Yes I think you are right about a primary doctor. The ones on base are full so you need to pick a civilian one.

How it worked for me with a civi doctor I went and tested thru her, she referred me to Balboa for a OB and it all went from there.

I cant recommend any of those drs you listed. Mine is all the way in Coronado.

Hope you get it taken care of soon!

I really liked my midwife team at NTC. I had Nancy and Denise. Both were awesome and wonderful.
