This is only a homework problem which counts as a few measly points of extra credit at the end of the course if we turn it in (and it doesn't really matter if it's necessarily right or wrong, he just wants to see us working it out). I just want to see if the answer I came up with is right. Our book only answers odd numbers and this one is even so I have no way to check it.
Anyone who is good with polynomials can help :) I have no idea if or how to enter in exponents so I'm just going to use the ^ then the number after it is the exponent. So, for 6 cubed, I will put 6^3 and for say 9 to the 8th power I will write 9^8 or v to the sixth power I'll put v^6
I hope that doesn't confuse anyone.
(tu^2v-4t^2u^2v+9t^3uv+3tv)+(3t^2u^2+2tv-t^3)-(4t^2u^2v+3tv+2tu^2v)-(6t^3uv+2tv)
My answer is
-8t^2u^2v+3t^3uv+3t^2u^2-tu^2v-3tv-3t
but I honestly don't think that's right. Ugh. I just got done doing 100 problems like this and looking at the letters and numbers are frying my brain :sick
