I think this was asked before, but I can't remember when and where to find it on the boards. Anyhoo.....I was wondering how long everyone knew their SO before they got married. I don't really think time matters when it's meant to be. Heck...I knew my ex husband for 2.5 years before we got married and it ended in a total trainwreck! What do y'all think?

I knew him for about 2 weeks before we officially started dating. Then 4 months later, we were "promised", and 3 months after that, we were planning a wedding while he was in Basic Training. At the time that we got married, we had known each other for about a year and 3 months :) We knew we were going to get married in the first month or 2 though.

We met in Jan. 2000 and got married in Sept. 2000.

Around 4 years 4 months or so. :)

I met my hubby in May 95, had our son July 96 and we were married March 14, 1998...
But I think I always knew I wanted to be with him, it just took a while for my head to catch up to my heart!

Oh my gosh! SOOOO cute! I think that's how I am (but I'm not married yet.) I felt it in my heart but was so afraid to actually say anything to anyone about marrying him or even admit it to myself in case anything happened and we broke up. Then I think I would have been :unlove. I wish boyfriend and I could get engaged soon. But since he decided in August that he wants to go into the SEALs we think it's only fair to each of us that we wait until he gets out of boot and BUD/S and gets stationed somewhere so we can then get engaged, plan the wedding together, and spend our 'engaged' time together... instead of apart. Still makes me :sadeyes though cuz I want us to start our lives together asap.

I have been married 2 times. The first one was "practice" to me because she was something else. You know it is bad when a person you only have been married to for 6 months and it takes over a year to divorce her. I dated her through out HS.

My current and LAST marriage (photo below). I met her online playing battleship and hit it off. I started dating her May 9 2001, my parents anniversary, and May 9th is my wifes birthday. We got married July 2 2004 on my moms birthday. there are a lot of weird things like that in our family.

i've known DH since i was 8. we didnt start dating off and on until i was 14ish. then we didnt really really start dating until i was 16, got engaged when i was 16 when he came home for christmas (he had already been in the military for a year and was stationed in hawaii) then got married when i was 18.

Met DH Sept. of '99... engaged October '99... married April 24, 2000

me and my husband went to high school together and knew each other about a year before we started dating, we dated a little under a year before he proposed, and we got married almost another year later.

we met on the internet late august 2006, met in person in september, and we're not engaged yet but have started talking about marriage this month :lovestruck he'll probably propose within a month, but we plan on a wedding this winter like december or jan, depending on where he goes. unless he gets sent to iraq, in which case we're getting married at the courthouse before he leaves and having the wedding when he gets back. but from the day we met, we both just knew :cloud9 i've been in relationships for a year or more and been hesitant to even *think* about the future, but this is just right. i too am sick of being called crazy for talking about marriage this soon in our relationship, but we're so happy together i just tune it out.

DF and I have been together for a year and a half. He knew after three weeks he wanted to marry me, but asked me after about a year. And now we are getting married in July-ish (it will be two years together).

I met DH July 3rd 2003 and we married November 13th 2004. A majority of the time was spent apart since he was in basic and tech school and then Germany.

I got married at 19 and was divorced right after I turned 22. I can't even remember why I married my first husband in the first place.
