"I feel like I'm doing something that matters again"

For those of you who don't know our story, DH suffers from PTSD, depression, anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and a chronic feeling of helplessness.

This is huge. I almost cried when he said that.

Did something in particular happen today that would have sparked a comment like that? Or is he just starting to heal and feel better now?

In any case, that's wonderful (L)

We were talking about his new job. The program that he is working in didn't exist when he got home from Iraq, and he helped to develop it when he got back. They are helping a lot of people, who are in the same position he is.

What type of program/job is it (sorry if I missed the post)? That's so awesome for him and your whole family. I know how much emotional struggles can take their toll on the whole family.

Good for him! And for you too!

Just to let you know that there is even more hope... my dad suffers from PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, panic disorder, OCD, and assorted other war-related issues - and he can be an exceptionally motivated and wonderfully happy person for most of the time. Your hubby should definitely be able to get through most of this, no matter how hard it seems at the time. :goodvibes
