Ok, so I'm guessing those who live in hampton roads know about the shooting at ODU ( which is where I go to school) but what bothers me ( maybe this should be a vent) is that the school is trying to down play what happened. 1st one of our basketball players was shot in front of his apartment on campus, which was right across the street from the police station. Then the next day 4 armed men with masks on force themselves into a dorm room holding the girls at gunpoint and stealing stuff. Then the day after that 2 people are held up getting outta their car heading toward there dorm room! And yet even though its been all over the news, the school has said and done nothing! No statement about safety on campus or anything! I don't live on campus, but I'm there from 8 am until sometimes 10 pm and its scary as hell to walk alone now. Everyone feels like they have to walk in groups b/c its the only way to be safe. Yes everyone is ok from all that has happened in the last week and a half, but don't you think its the responsiblity of the school to assure its students that the situation is being handled even if it is just to give some people a since of relief? and to think, ODU is called one of the safest schools in VA.. hahahaha

I'm surprised they don't have SWAT scouting the place after soo many incidents!! Definitely walk in groups of 4 or more and always get somebody to walk you to your car if you're there that late. Stay safe!

My goodness. Yes, I think they should be doing more to let people know they're keeping an eye out. Be careful.

OMFG!!!! My little sister goes to ODU! She never said anything about it. If anything happened to her, it would take us at least 5 hours to get down there. My fiance is stationed down there, so if anything happened he could get to her when he's in port. I guess now I have to worry about my df and my baby sister. Was this gun activity anywhere near 49th street?
