Dang ment 4d not 3d and 3d!!

When is the best time to get them?? When is the earliest you can see tell the sex on these scans??? We move from here right around my 20 week mark so I want to make sure I know the sex before we move because theres no telling how long it will take to get a Dr once I move back home!! Any advice would be great!! Also, anyone who has done these ultrasounds, can you show pics and tell me the gestation age so I can compare the quality?

most of the place that i have looked here, the websites say that the best time for gender is 18-20wks. i wanted to do it with Chris, but when Gabe got sick, money got really tight. so i am def going to do it with this one!!! LOL

The best time to do the 4-D u/s are around 28 weeks that way the baby doesn't look like an "alien". I got my 4-D u/s done in San Diego when I was about 24 weeks and Ethan looks pretty freaky...LOL!!! I wish I was able to do it at 28 weeks...

If we did the 3d would it be the same??

For telling the sex they have always told me between 18 and 20 weeks. When I went for my 20wk ultrasound we were asking about them and she said that the best time is about 24 weeks to get a really good visual on the 3d and 4d because that is when they start to develop their baby fat and you can get a really good idea of what your baby looks like.

Yeah!!! I'f I'm not mistaken 4D is the movement videos and 3D are the still shots.

For finding out the sex you don't need a 3 or 4d. a 2d will show you all you need to see. BUt if you want to see your baby on 3 or 4d the lady who did mine told me to come back between 28-32 wks to see the baby on 3d b/c that's when they have fat on their faces and look like babies. Good Luck!!

My friend went at 16 weeks and her pictures looked like a little baby. The place I am going to said you can tell the sex at about 14 weeks. Infact, my friend who is having twins found out at last week at 14 wks she is having boys.

Forgot to add, I am going for my 3D/4D at 18 weeks.

Does tricare cover these at all? If not, how expensive are they?

Tricare wont cover it for recreational purposes, which is why most women get 3d u/s (if not the only reason). We are paying $85 for ours, which is very cheap compared to other ppl.

the normal u/s pics the do are just 2d right....I mean I had those done, but the 3d and 4d are not covered? Is that right?

MTFs can do 3-d & 4-D if it's medically necessary.
